Hi, has anyone used the ESP8266 with the CASPIO REST API? Do you know if it is possible to use OAuth2 with ESP8266?

Does anyone happen to know the platformio equivalent to enable esp8266 debugport and debuglevel as in generic arduino IDE menu options? Are these compiler flags?

What's the common practice when one wants to connect GPIO16 to RST to allow hard resets from software? Direct connection? Through resistor or diode?
I've read some people having problems programming with a direct connection but that might be related to the esp being in deep sleep when they tried to program it..
I will not be using deep sleep, only want to be able to hard reset through software

@larsenglund , yes, a 470K or 1K resistor can be use or a diode with cathode on GPIO16 side. Still need 10K PullUp on RES. The issue is that when deepSleep mode, the GPIO16 is strongly HIGH, preventing any external reset. By adding resistor or diode, it allows external reset using a LOW that otherwise wouldn't be low enough.

@martinayotte Thanks! So when not using deep sleep a direct connection is fine, right?

If you don't need deepSleep, than you can avoid that resistor/diode, but need to switch GPIO16 to input when no reset been done.
