What is different on this ESP-12S to a ESP-12E?

12S doesn't have pin 6-11 broken out
and it is claimed to have better signal level on attenna design
i think they have different certifications
but not sure.

Hi All, I have a question. I want to save a string that I get from the input form of a web page, is EEPROM the only place that I can use to save it? PROGMEM only works for const char[]. I can't use it.

"Eeprom" is indeed a certain area of flash-memory on a ESP
SPIFFS?

My point is, is "EEPROM" the only place that I can use to store my data?
And I'm also using WiFi Manger, are the SSID and password also store in EEPROM? How do I know I won't screw up the SSID and password?

@simonliu009 the esp truely doesn't have eeprom. The eeprom object is emulating the support by using non-volatile flash memory that is used by many system parts, but sets aside the amount you want for your use only. Spiffs also uses this memory and sets aside but has a file interface. If you search you will find details on both.

@Makuna I've been searching around for a whole day. I only got something like "EEPROM.begin(512);" just like in the sample sketch. Does this mean the eeprom object simulates up to 512 bytes just like the Arudino board? I can't find any information about the flash operation outside of the 512 bytes. Is it possible to use address larger than 512 in eeprom.write()? Or is there any thread talking about this?

If you have a lot of form fields to save, you can use SPIFFS or SDCard along with ArduinoJson.

Hi guys. Is there any Breadboard for ESP with a hardwired network-interface on it? like W5100

I don't think so, but I saw a picture of some guy's project, a mother PCB holding such module along with ESP.

Perhaps a Wemos D1 with a W5100-Shield...

In his case, if I remember, it was a NodeMCU. Couldn't find the picture yet. There is also Cicero that did same with ENC28J60, code is on github.
