There is not an explicit link between the two, even if RASH follows the Linked Research principles as described by Sarven
One of the possible (future) works I’m thinking about in this direction is to extend Dokieli (which is the new Sarven’s project) for handling also RASH documents
Newton Calegari
@newtoncalegari
It sounds nice
Silvio Peroni
@essepuntato
right now the only actual link (in terms of coding) is the RASH Springer CSS file, which was obtanied from the related Linked Research one
At certain point, bridging the two efforts (i.e., RASH and Dokieli) would be productive for both projects I think, but it is only a todo right now
Newton Calegari
@newtoncalegari
I hope in the future this link between thow projects be possible.
Thanks for your answer

I'm forking the RASH repo. I'll try to contribute with some issues :-)
Silvio Peroni
@essepuntato
That’s great. And please, if you have some new issues don’t hesitate to add them, OK?
thanks again for your support and help

Pretty please, consider my pull request to use <em> and <strong>for emphasis: essepuntato/rash#57
RASH currently contradicts the HTML5 standard, for no apparent good reason. This would fix that.
Silvio Peroni
@essepuntato
Hi @RubenVerborgh
I’ve jsut merged your pull
I’ll release a new RASH version (with the updates in the whole Framework) quite soon, including simplification of the figure box handling, MathJax for LaTeX formula, and SVG images
stay tuned
:)

@RubenVerborgh
Very cool, thanks a lot @essepuntato!

Hi all, the new version of RASH (0.5) is now available on the repository, and enables the possibility of specifying LaTeX formulas and SVG images. More info at https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-lod/2016Feb/0031.html

@essepuntato thank u Silvio , I m a Junior programmer ,I downloaded RASH Project , And I have used the "java -jar odt2rash.jar -i ../../testbed/odt/testbed-13.odt -o testout/" Command Successfully Convert my odt file to html , but I wanna Change the formate , Can u give my some guide?
How to use a template ? I changed the template.html ,but It doesnot work
Silvio Peroni
@essepuntato
Hi @queensking , what do you mean with "change the format"? If you mean to visualise it with a different layout, then in the Framework there are only CSS for Web visualisation, and Springer-like visualisation
queensking
@queensking
@essepuntato, right , I mean visualise it with a different layout , I had thought the layout can be modify by a html
@essepuntato, right , I mean visualise it with a different layout , I had thought the layout can be modify by a html file , After all thank u very much
Silvio Peroni
@essepuntato
Nope, each layout available is actually associated to two different css. Thus, one has to create a new css (or modifying an existing one) for having a new layout.
queensking
@queensking
@essepuntato There are 4 xsl file(acm-icps.xsl,from-odt.xsl,rash-update.xsl,springer-lncs.xsl ) , It is mean , there are 4 different layout? If I wanna Convert a odt2rash , I should modify the "form-odt.xsl" file?
Silvio Peroni
@essepuntato
The XSLT files you are referring to enables us to convert from ODT to RASH (from-odt.xsl), and from RASH to LaTeX according to the Springer LNCS class (springer-lncs.xsl) and the the ACM ICPS class (acm-icps.xsl), while “rash-update.xsl” is actually used for trying to update documents written with an old version of RASH to the last available version. The former three XSLT are already included in ROCS (http://dasplab.cs.unibo.it/rocs) for allowing the conversion from/to such formats. Thus, if you want to enable the converstion from RASH into a new LaTeX format, for instance, you should create a new XSLT document that implements it. Please note that such XSLT do not affect how the RASH document will be visualised on a browser. They only implement conversion strategies from/to RASH documents.

On HTTP REST requests for RASH files should I use html as content-type or some application defined format such as rash? What makes more sense?
Silvio Peroni
@essepuntato
Well, all the RASH files in the GitHub repository are XHTML, thus in that case a application/xhtml+xml would be better. Otherwise, text/html should be fine, generally speaking. For sure, there is no specific RASH-oriented application format, thus any (X)HTML content type should be fine

Mr Silvio, I have a ploblem. I can not get the element I want from modify the file "from-odt.xsl". e.g. I want traverse the "text:h" element, so I write
<xsl:for-each select="/office:document-content/office-body/office-text/text:h">
<p><xsl:value-of select="."/></p>
</xsl:for-each>
   <xsl:for-each select="/office:document-content[1]/office-body[1]/office-text[1]/text:h">
   <p><xsl:value-of select="."/></p>
   </xsl:for-each>
but it doesnot work,can u give some guide for me ,thank you very much
Silvio Peroni
@essepuntato
The problem I see in the snippet you posted is that “office-body” and “office-text” should be “office:body” and “office:text”
queensking
@queensking
Oh , God ! It is a very low level error ,I m sorry to waste of your time , and thank you very very very much sir.
queensking
@queensking
@essepuntato Sir,do you have a tool from docx to rash ?
Silvio Peroni
@essepuntato
@queensking not yet, even if there is a guy that should currently work on this
queensking
@queensking
That is really a pity, I think office use more widely
HugoWong
@HugoWong
Sir,Can you recommend me some open source projects that have used rash?
Silvio Peroni
@essepuntato
Hi @HugoWong. Well, I’m not aware about OS project that are using it right now, except those ones that are included in the RASH Framework, e.g. ROCS (http://dasplab.cs.unibo.it/rocs)

Hi all, we have just submitted a long paper about RASH to PeerJ CS (https://peerj.com/computer-science/), and the preprint is available at https://doi.org/10.7287/peerj.preprints.2513v1. Your feedback is more than welcome. You can use this chat, personal communications (essepuntato@gmail.com), or even the PeerJ interface available at the preprint page.
