@steadycoding
I'm having some trouble creating a pull request for este. I'm getting a 403.
Tyler Andersen
@grimunit
Been loving the awesomeness of este :smile: I'm really wanting to reconcile the fela styling approach with material-ui components but finding it difficult to figure it out myself. Would it be best to opt each component I want to use into the <Fela> component in BaseRoot file? Trying to understand how I could utilize Fela on top of the base material-ui styles. If anyone has any examples of something similar (using Fela with other out-of-the-box components), that would be super helpful.

@jacobbubu
@grimunit I'm using material-ui in ESTE. I'll give you an example later this week.
Tyler Andersen
@grimunit
@jacobbubu That would be a huge help, I'll create an issue in the repo and you can answer there as I'm sure others will want to see your example

I will post to this issue when I done my example.

@Yuripetusko

Hello people.

have this been discussed yet? using universal <Heading /> component will result in <div /> but what about SEO impact of this in browsers? Surely h1, h2, h3 is more favourable to Google?

Tyler Andersen
@grimunit
@Yuripetusko I believe you can use the as property to specify that you want the containing tag to be something else, for example as={<h1>} (I may be wrong on syntax, you may be able to just pass a string like 'h1'). If you look at src/native/me/MePage.js on line 27 there is an example of a <Box> component using another Image component as its container.
<Heading /> uses both <Text> and <Box internally and allow the passing of the as prop
Yuri
@Yuripetusko
@grimunit thank you! I missed that

@jacobbubu
@grimunit I have responded to the issue #1357.
Tyler Andersen
@grimunit
Hey @jacobbubu thanks a ton for that example, I'm going through it now. Will probably be another day or so before I get to actually start trying to implement some more components, and I'll probably have a question or two for you.

I'm having trouble creating a basic styled component
Are there any guides or examples?

Hey @steida do you have much of an opinion on recompose? I'm thinking of using it to compose my HOC's together instead of Ramda for some of the benefits it gives like the squashing nested container components and access to a lot of the react specific helper/utilities when dealing with redux and react state & props and such.
Tyler Andersen
@grimunit
And loving the next branch by the way, there were several things I was coming to odds with, and you switched to what I was leaning towards with a lot of things. Such as having a separate Page component with a directory for the pages, and moving to the withTheme HOC is awesomeness, I was having troubles with the style function approach. Just awesome stuff :D

@sikhote
@reedlaw This might help...checkout BackgroundImage line 154 and 176 ... what got me was the need to specify pass-through props... https://github.com/sikhote/davidsinclair/blob/master/src/browser/components/Feed.js
Daniel Steigerwald
@steida
as for recompose; I am fine with ramda compose
as for next branch; Este CSS in JS is done, now working on redux fields, check last commit, I am so close
anyway, thank you

@steida How soon will it be ready for POC? Have a school project and would love to use it ;)

I've got an nom module I'm importing on the mater branch, but I can't figure out how to import the styles from it.

Real shit done in next Este cc @rofrischmann
Check super awesome typed fast whatever forms.
Daniel Steigerwald
@steida
Dope shit in Este next brach. Forms and validation, it's hard, because it's your app actually.
Daniel Steigerwald
@steida
Grrrr, pending states or another intermediary states persisted in local storage can break app totally.
Can't figure out the right pattern.
One idea is to use some prefix like _ or $, but it could totally break another data.
Daniel Steigerwald
@steida
Another idea is let user "restart" async process with switch.
Or cancel.
Daniel Steigerwald
@steida
Ok, este/este@582bd93
This is it.

Hey guys.

How do you get Box.js clickable (onPress) in React native? I tried to wrap whole component in TouchableHighlight but it throws: Touchable child must either be native or forward setNativeProps to a native component at invariant. Thanks

Petr Homoky
@homoky

I have a button:

<Box style={buttonStyle} flexDirection="column" alignItems="center" justifyContent="center" {...props}>
      <Image source={btnBackgroundImage} style={imageStyle} resizeMode="stretch" />
      <Text style={textStyle}>{children.toUpperCase()}</Text>
</Box>

and I need to reflect onPress (for functions) and Link (for routes).

Daniel Steigerwald
@steida
Angel J Piscola
@Redmega
@homoky I believe Box should not have any events like that for accessibility purposes. You can try to wrap it in an actual <Button>. Otherwise you may be missing passThrough from fela.

@Redmega Thanks, I solved it with basic View and the TouchableHighlight.

@hunght
I,m doing on reactnative and I used Listview normally, but i want to use it like Box component. Css in js style. Maybe how to wrap it with fela. could someone give me advise to start with. Btw thank for making este
Hoang The Hung
@hunght
for more detail i have this one '''contentContainerStyle={styles.list}'''
4ship
@4ship
When I upgrade react-native to 0.46.4 and react to 16.0.0-alpha.12 , web version will stop working
Hoang The Hung
@hunght
@4ship you need to update these things to "react-addons-test-utils": "16.0.0-alpha.12",
"react-apollo": "^1.4.3",
"react-dom": "16.0.0-alpha.12",

Do you get working new next este with your custom graph.cool database? When I copy the schema to graph.cool, enable auth, run npm run schema and npm run relay I get this:

> este@ relay /Users/petrhomoky/Desktop/este
> relay-compiler --src ./ --exclude **/.next/** **/flow-typed/** **/node_modules/** **/test/**  **/__generated__/** --schema data/schema.graphql

HINT: pass --watch to keep watching for changes.
