Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
There is significant demand for the general subject of governance and "philosophy", and EIP0 captures that. Hopefully there will be some overlap in terms of timing, but not too much because we'd want people to put work in on both efforts!
Boris Mann
@bmann
Yep. Hence "shoulder" -- before/after
Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
Yep :)
Boris Mann
@bmann
@jpitts are the dates set at all?
Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
Not yet, we have a set of proposed dates and may need to coordinate more closely with those tasked with securing the venue.
Boris Mann
@bmann
Draft form @jpitts @lrettig Form -- https://goo.gl/forms/xTYJHOV2R6FQfN4m2
Likely needs way more wordsmithing and most importantly needs topics
Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
Also there is this suggestion from cryptowanderer, to use Status bounty for tech work. I hooked this up for several of the python projects and it is interesting. https://ethereum-magicians.org/t/berlin-council-planning-wiki-feedback/325/9?u=jpitts
Boris Mann
@bmann
Yes. If we can use bounties that is great. I worry that it over emphasizes production work over planning.
But having a template and unique logo for each event is really great for community building
And NFT token for all attendees ;)
Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
That would be really cool
Boris Mann
@bmann
@jpitts are you around? Let's settle on 14th & 15th -- the weekend dates as well
I'[d like a thumbs up from you on that before I do it unilaterally :)
Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
Ok let me check the dates entered on that spreadsheet
Boris Mann
@bmann
Right now of the 5 / 6 entries we have, everybody is ok with 14-15th, and two prefer 14-15th.
Not a useful enough sample size yet, but cbase wants a decision so they can free up the other dates
Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
ok cool, also this gives some space for Zug + getting to Berlin
Boris Mann
@bmann
yeah I don't think there is a lot of Zug overlap necessarily
I mean -- y'all might be going
But TechCrunch and technical governance don't sound like much of an overlap
Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
Yeah best to move on it so we can secure the space and start making plans.
Boris Mann
@bmann
ok, great -- I have a little update post for the site where I changed the name everywhere to Summer Meeting
and I'll confirm date and add cbase as the venue
Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
There could be few core devs attending the Zug conference, haven't heard anything definitive except for the current speakers announced on the Techcrunch website though.
I think 14-15th is a very good choice, even a Schelling point :)
Boris Mann
@bmann
yep. and per earlier discussion, the weekend is a decision too that maybe lots a bunch of people from around Europe jump on planes or Ryan air
Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
Also, this is sort of a lazy branding thing but I use ✨utf8 for our logo :)
Boris Mann
@bmann
Yeah I haven't been able to find a large version of it, just need to get to that.
Having per-meeting "logos" is kind of fun and really helped personalize and grow the Drupal community
Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
I generated one, more lazing branding. I zoomed into the uff8 char and created a screen snap
Boris Mann
@bmann
One of my favourites is the "Bay Area Drupal Camp -- aka BAD Camp" --> https://2017.badcamp.net/

Boris Mann
@bmann
:)
Good excuse to ask for help
Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
that bad ass drupal logo is cool
Boris Mann
@bmann
Hey -- do you have time right now for a quick Google Hangout? We should maybe say "hi" to each other in slightly higher fidelity :)
Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
Yeah we could Ethereumize / diamondize the sparkles, get some graphic design help on it
Actually can't just yet, we should if I have time after lunch, will ping you
Boris Mann
@bmann
OK. I'm at my desk for the rest of afternoon -- just ping. I should probably eat lunch too.
And -- Ashley is our on the ground contact?
Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
Yes! ok cool, will-do
She is, and we should find out who else we could contact there when she can't immediately respond
Jamie Pitts
@jpitts
Boris, thanks for getting that going! I can't have this call today as I am headed to a meeting, but let's try to tomorrow morning
Boris Mann
@bmann
Yep I am available tomorrow morning. Cheers.
Rex Hygate
@RexShinka
@jpitts This is Rex from SecurEth. I am interested in co-ordinating the meeting of the Ethereum Security Committee. Boris mentioned that you could make the most a wiki. I am putting together a document summarizing the points put forward. It would be nice if this document could be edited by the community as we build towards consensus on location, agenda and attendees
