I left the agenda items pretty open-ended (Istanbul, Berlin). If there’s anything specific you think we should be discussing, please leave a comment on the issue and I’ll update the agenda accordingly.
That is still TBD. Odds are that if you wait long enough, you won’t have too, but it may be quicker to re-create it. Basically, we will have contracts on ETH 2.0 before moving the old ETH 1.0 contracts over. The details of how this “move the old ETH 1.0 contracts over” would happen are still being worked out.
with re-create do you mean create a new token on ETH2 and airdrop them all to the token hodlers of the old contract?
Daniele, to add to this, the Eth2 team is aiming for minimal disruption to Eth1 deployed ERC-20s, CDPs, and other common types of smart contract. I would just proceed on building for Eth1 if I were you. Hi all, did we misjudge the difficulty bomb?
If that's it, last time it took only 2 months to get to 20s block times. I've looked at hash rate, uncle rates and block sizes and they all appear normal, so unless it's some other anomaly it would appear to be the bomb.
@MadeofTin if I remember correctly eip-1234 pushed it 2mn blocks. At the time the estimate was 12 months because block times were 15 seconds (347 days). However block times had actually been around 13.2 which actually puts it at 305 days. We’re not to block 9280000 yet but we’re only 2 months away. The reason the blip could be showing up early is because it was showing up before constantinople too.
1.6E11 ~ 2^37. difficulty is on the order of 2^52. My estimate is that in 1.5 million blocks we will be back up to 30 second block times, so Q2 is when we may start observing with the naked eye the ice age.

There has been no realistic discussions about gas price in Eth 2.0. IMHO phase 1 needs to go into client impl and testnet before anything reasonable can be conjectured.
EIP-1559, however it lands, will have more of an immediate impact on gas price.
Ideally some slightly bigger chunk of 100 or so would be great and much appreciated.
