Hi
From the source file, the p2p protocol picks nodes from the Kademlia table for establishing a new TCP connection based on the node total difficulty and maybe reputation. It is possible I'm mistaken, but I don't see any implementation of the Kademlia table. My question is why defined a complex data structure and not utilize it? If we are merely selecting nodes based on difficulty and reputation, why not just put the nodes in an array list? Or is the Kademlia table meant for 2.0 with shards?

hi, is it possible to open and parse an existing geth or parity database with this library?
Dmitry S.
@zilm13
@RemoteRen no, every client has its own format
the fastest way to transfer data is sync, it should sync with other client even without internet

hi, plz how is the number of inbound and outbound connections determined in EthereumJ?

Hi, i'm trying to make a small private network using ethereumj. My setup is: 1 miner, 2 regular nodes. I am using PrivateMinerSample for miner node and PrivateNetworkDiscoverySample for the other two nodes. They all find each other and update their blockchain state but when i want to send a transaction from one node to another the transaction isn't added to any of the block despite sender having enough founds and gasPrice being good (no error in logs). My question is if i made something wrong with config files (miner node should not have peer discovery?)

@mkalinin
do you want to sync balances of all the tokens that particular address does own?
You would need to know a list of all token contracts and trigger balanceOf method. To get this list you have to scan transaction receipts starting from the beginning of the chain and check whether given address is a part of Logs related to token transfers.

You need a fully synced node and then use Web3j to run log queries with your address in topics related to the events of contracts targeted by your search. Log query https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/JSON-RPC#eth_getlogs

Is randao implemented in Ethereum using smart contracts?

There is a contract-based implementation here https://github.com/randao/randao. And there is an implementation built in a Beacon Chain: https://github.com/ethereum/eth2.0-specs/blob/dev/specs/core/0_beacon-chain.md#randao

Once two way bridge between Eth1 and Eth2 is built this randao source could be used in Eth1.

Look into these tests https://github.com/ethereum/tests/tree/develop/GeneralStateTests/stZeroKnowledge
https://github.com/ethereum/tests/tree/develop/GeneralStateTests/stZeroKnowledge2

They are implemented in EthereumJ code as a part of test suite implementation https://github.com/ethereum/ethereumj/blob/develop/ethereumj-core/src/test/java/org/ethereum/jsontestsuite/GitHubStateTest.java#L264-L272

Since EthereumJ is deprecated. Is there another JVM based Ethereum client that is not deprecated? I understand that Pantheon is now called Hyperledger Besu. Is that my best bet?

As you all know, EthereumJ isn't maintained anymore and, for security reasons, we no longer recommend using it in production.
There are many viable Ethereum clients you can use: https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/Clients,-tools,-dapp-browsers,-wallets-and-other-projects
If you want to continue using a Java client, we'd recommend the client we are currently building; Hyperledger Besu (https://besu.hyperledger.org/). Feedback, PRs and suggestions are always welcome in the github repo: https://github.com/hyperledger/besu .
