Keep getting an error on MEW when trying to transfer to the 0x000 address.
Registrant and controller are both the same address (mine) ...
I feel like such a noob lol
@ken-gee Is it convenient for you to specify the ENS name's registrant address here?
Sorry @liubenbencom ... I'd rather not do that. All these names got dumped in this address without being asked if I still wanted to use this address so, am not comfortable sharing. I'd like to dump them and then rebuy them ... if that's possible and if it's not ... then just dump them.
Thinking about it ... if there's no other way, then I'm happy to share the address with one person. Guessing that that is better than going full public ... in most cases :P
@matthunter_twitter Can you describe one such issue you're having conceretely, with an example domain and screenshots, so we can look into it?
@apothan I'm aware of and providing advice to a team working on exactly that.
@andrewheadricke That's right; it's a shortcoming/issue with SSL wildcard certificates in general.
@wighawag What do you mean by "SSL redirect"? Redirecting from http to https?
@ken-gee You need to transfer it to some other burn address, such as 0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dead
Hi, @Arachnid. Thanks for responding. Yes, one concrete example is when I go to My Names in the Controller section and find one that says "Available" when searching for it. I click the details and the Registrant is pointing to my correct ETH address, but the Controller is pointing to 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000. I try to Set it to my ETH address, but nothing happens. I click the garbage can icon next to 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000 and the "TX PENDING" just spins without ever becoming a transaction or deleting it. No idea how to make the Controller of my domain point to my ETH address. That's one example.
Can you post a screenshot of your JS console after clicking on 'Set'? Which name is it?
@matthunter_twitter If you have a pending TX, though, that's down to network congestion and your wallet - nothing to do with the ENS app. If you're using Metamask, it has an option to speed up your TX by replacing it with one with a higher gas price.
@Arachnid yes, a redirect from http to https when visiting links like ronan.eth.link without that I need to redirect via html meta tag and js (if meta tag not taken in consideration) which gives a bad UX
@wighawag We've considered it. One thing that put us off is that SSL only works on 3LDs, so we'd have to do the redirect selectively.
making it work on 3LDs would be better than not working at all, no ?
There is a second transaction required, whatever tool you are using should have prompted you to sign the next transaction. However, you are using the old registry and I don't know if you can migrate from the old registry still.
@veronandrino_twitter What UI are you using?
I don't trust using my trezor with matamask also there are no video instructions out there. Got too much to lose on my trezor to connect it to metamask @nrhirsch
@syscoinethereum MetaMask cannot steal from your Trezor. Anything MM tries to do with your Trezor will result in your Trezor prompting you for confirmation.
