Hey Sphinx-heads.
Anybody worked out how to do external hyperlinks with non-unique labels.

ie. I can do `cpp-ethereum_
and then
.. _cpp_ethereum: http://github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum/
But then cpp-ethereum is used as the name of the link within the RST AND the label shown in the generated content.

has anybody worked out syntax for something where I can have the output show "Installer" for them all, but they link to different locations?

I'd suggest an inline link as hughlang suggests.

Yeah that is what I usually do for links. We don't have a consistent way of formatting links right now, which I think is okay.

Thanks, @hughlang and @pipermerriam,
Well, I would (that's where I started), but there are hyperlinks links within tables, and the markup for the tables appears to be very column-exact-fussy. Like you have to link all the bastards up perfectly, or they don't work. So if you have long URLs like this, the thing is as wide as bus. It's a real pain in the ass.

If you don't line the | characters up right then it doesn't work, so if you have a 30-40 character link on one row then you need to pad all of the rows out to the same spacing.
That isn't the case for Markdown format.

Compare-and-contrast to the monster tables I built for:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/doublethinkco/webthree-umbrella-cross/master/README.md

Most of them line up, but if there is a monster URL in one cell then that one can just go messy, and it's fine.

Can be changed back if people like the Web3 name it had better
Just did a major update for the formatting of all pages, edited contributors, edited bits and pieces of pages, and changed the web3 page to Dapps and cleaned it up

For code kill it bit it's a killer concept
I think we keep it

@zelig the issue is that web3 is a concept and a js library and a general term, which can cause confusion.
Viktor Trón
@zelig
Mar 09 2016 07:54
It's :/
It's ok
The general term is used for the concept, the js library is named after this concept cos is used to build apps for web 3  kind of fair

Will continue on this tomorrow, but this can be merged as-is and we'll be in a better place.

I think I found a little bug in the documentation
I just searched for “whisper”, and every link starts with a space (%20)
So it doesnt work

catching up… Glad to rename web3 to dapps. I never understood web3 except as Web 3.0, the concept

So ... RE killing http://gavofyork.gitbooks.io/turboethereum/ and migration of content from https://github.com/ethereum/webthree-umbrella/wiki ...

I would like to a new top-level section, after Frequently Asked Questions which will contain all the C++ documentation. I was pondering a "Ethereum Clients" section, with C++ under that. We could have stubs in there for the other clients, which just have a paragraph on the client and links to their content. What degree of nesting can we have in RST?

Anyway - I just wanted to check this is OK with everyone? Also I wanted to request commit rights, because the migration work for all of these docs is going to be a bunch of commits, and it's not worth bothering anybody else with reviews as I am going through all this client-specific grunt work. When it is all in place, I expect to be doing some reviews with the rest of the C++ team, but this sub-section will likely be pretty much our own ghetto.

@bobsummerwill Sounds great to me. I think separate stubs by client is the best route to take. I am also okay with you getting commit rights since you will be doing a bunch of commits. @tgerring or @zelig should be able ot get get you some
