    hi guys, what's the progress about the issue "ethereum/pydevp2p#58" . someone knows?
    Wolf480pl
    @Wolf480pl
    Hello, can someone look at my pull request ethereum/pydevp2p#72 ? It fixes some of the test failures on Python 3. I have more bugfixes but I've commited them on top of this one, as I wanted to make sure they don't break the tests.
    Wolf480pl
    @Wolf480pl
    is TestFullApp.test_inc_counter_app[6] timing out randomly?
    Wolf480pl
    @Wolf480pl
    uh, it's probably because the UPNP stuff takes too long during app startup
    Wolf480pl
    @Wolf480pl
    Made another pull request which fixes test_eviction_node_inactive on py3 ethereum/pydevp2p#73 .
    Wolf480pl
    @Wolf480pl
    Two more: ethereum/pydevp2p#74 and ethereum/pydevp2p#76
    Jan Xie
    @janx
    @Wolf480pl yep, upnp takes 2 sec on boot
    and it doesn't work in some environment
    would be great if someone can take time to fix it

    @karthiknvlr
    Hi I am new to this can anyone help me how to use this module.
    Wolf480pl
    @Wolf480pl
    It's cute how all the services are starting synchronously, mapping upnp ports from their start() methods

    Hello, did anyone thought of preparing pydevp2p implementation on asyncio?
    Wolf480pl
    @Wolf480pl
    @janx ethereum/pydevp2p#77 makes it only perform the UPnP discovery once per python process, instead of twice per app. I don't think it's too clean of a solution, but it makes the tests pass.
    Jan Xie
    @janx
    @Wolf480pl thanks!
    Wolf480pl
    @Wolf480pl
    @janx One pull request left: ethereum/pydevp2p#73 it's just a single line diff in the tests, but it makes them pass on python3 - just look at these green check marks on Travis ;) https://travis-ci.org/ethereum/pydevp2p/builds/258128031
    Wolf480pl
    @Wolf480pl
    btw. it looks to me that this comment is false https://github.com/ethereum/pydevp2p/blob/develop/devp2p/multiplexer.py#L390 because this will never add a frame that would make the total size exceed current pws https://github.com/ethereum/pydevp2p/blob/develop/devp2p/multiplexer.py#L380 which means that if the pws changes, there might be too big frames in the queue that never get added

    hi @heikoheiko! I see you commented out the line which uses JSONRPCServer class https://github.com/ethereum/pydevp2p/blame/develop/devp2p/app.py#L102. This was the single point where this class was used in the entire project. I think we can remove import statement and this line. Is it ok?
    Kirill Varlamov
    @ongrid
    and jsonrpc.py file is not used anymore - it can be safely deleted as I see
    Kirill Varlamov
    @ongrid
    Thank you @janx @gsaldago, unnecessary JSON RPC imports removed and coverage increased.

    Does anyone have insights into why Ethereum uses a structured overlay (Kademlia) for broadcasting, while Bitcoin doesn't?
    Paweł Bylica
    @chfast
    I think it does not

    Hi everybody! I've just submitted EIP PR regarding native vulnerabilities of Ethereum platform if Internet used as the only transport. Could you guys please take a look? Discussion and Up/Downvotes highly appreciated ethereum/EIPs#711

    A pull request that replaces pyelliptic with pyca/cryptography: ethereum/pydevp2p#81
    Elfoniok
    @Elfoniok
    Does any one know why this error is happening when killing devp2p services? AttributeError: 'DatagramServer' object has no attribute 'socket'
    As a hint i can say that i am killing services from Hub greenlet (through spawn), not from main greenlet
    Elfoniok
    @Elfoniok
    Looks like using NodeDiscovery and PeerManager cause this when killing and one is using socket closed by another
    Elfoniok
    @Elfoniok
    Wolf480pl created PR for this, thanks

    Hello
    could someone explain to me when this exception can be raised? if data[:1] != b'\x04': raise ECIESDecryptionError("wrong ecies header")
    and why it is not caught anywhere?

    hi all, is the pydevp2p project still active? I'm trying to learn more about the ethereum code base and thought the python implementation would be an easier place to start but the commits seem to have slowed down over the past couple months and i'm having trouble getting the documentation to build.

    @holgerd77
    @drewtu2 You can also have a look at the p2p folder of py-evm, this is pretty current stuff.
