Hi there, attempting to do the tutorial for creating my own token. Im in the test wallet, compiled the code, but i cant launch the contract. Do I have to have Ether even when testing from a test wallet?

@JoshuaeKaiser yes you need test ether. If you start mining it on your own, even on a home computer, you’ll be able to get some
On the develop menu > start mining

Hi there, sorry to bother again, the tutorial for creating my own contract states that once the code has been place in the solidarity contract source code, i should expect to see multiple parameters under the constructor parameters headline (these include innitial supply, ticker ect) currently the code compiles correctly but i only see initial supply ? and im missing the other parameters specified. Have I done something wrong ? Cheers

@JoshuaeKaiser so check the function that has the same name as the contract. That’s the one that keeps the parameters

@alexvandesande Thanks, you were right i missed that, however when i replace i get this error Error: :4:1: Error: More than one constructor defined.
function Joshcoin(uint256 initialSupply) {
^
Spanning multiple lines.
Another declaration is here: :20:1:
function Joshcoin(uint256 initialSupply, string tokenName, uint8 decimalUnits, string tokenSymbol) {
^
Spanning multiple lines.

Yes, because you have two functions called Joshcoin

why does the "greeter" tutorial have the "var" keyword in front of variables? the interactive javascript console in geth does not understand the keyword and functions correctly when it is ommited.

Hi Guys, managed to create my own contract, followed all the steps in the tutorial and made sure that I am tracking the token, however when i try and send some of my created tokens to another wallet the tokens are debited to my account but never arrive at the counterparty account, why is this ? cheers
