@scootcho You have to select 'Develop => Start Mining' from the Ethereum Wallet and then just let it run for a while and you'll get some Ether.

@scootcho best practice for ethereum based development is testrpc , you get 10 nodes each with 100 ether to play with
and is very easy to install

@jjcool yeah, I got that to work. The "Start Mining" thing has just sat their using processor for well over an hour and produced zilch.

hello
i have a question for you nice folk
s
i have this struct struct Stromzaehler{ bool active; uint lastUpdate; uint256 stand;
which will be mapped like this mapping(address => Stromzaehler) public zaehlers;
i have a function that goes like this function registerToAbrechner(address _abrechnerAddress){ zaehlers[_abrechnerAddress] = Stromzaehler({ active: true, lastUpdate: now, stand: 0 }); }

let me try again: this is my code:
struct Stromzaehler{ bool active; uint lastUpdate; uint256 stand; } mapping(address => Stromzaehler) public zaehlers; function setStand(uint256 _stand) onlyOwner { if(zaehlers[msg.sender].active){ zaehlers[msg.sender].lastUpdate = now; zaehlers[msg.sender].stand = _stand; }else{ throw; } } function setStand(uint256 _stand, address _userAddress){ User kunde = User(_userAddress); kunde.setStand(_stand); } }
ยดยดยด
function setStand(uint256 _stand, address _userAddress){
User kunde = User(_userAddress);
kunde.setStand(_stand);
}
}
```
anyway, the function setStand will be called by another contract
my question is: how does the array look and how could i insert into the array?
do i have to create multiple contracts with the struct stromzaehler?
or does it suffice if i just call the contract user with different addresses?
