@whysoserious there’s a great solidity help at /solidity/
But it’s probably return string[]
return [‘a’, ‘b’] ?
Jan Ziniewicz
@whysoserious
nah, it's an error in function declaration (first line at the screenshot)
I'll ask on /solidity
thanks for help
and patience ;)

@everyone re: Token Tutorial: " The only way this contract can move funds is by selling and buying them." The function Transfer is still in play though, so in the abstract isn't the contract enabling movement of funds outside of the buy and sell functions?
Alex Van de Sande
@alexvandesande
@zach-is-my-name Maybe you can help me rephrase it but the purpose of that phrase is to say that unlike a traditional bank, the contract cannot move the ether it has, it can only use it to buy back tokens

@zach-is-my-name
@alexvandesande gotcha, i'll maybe try and spin up a suggestion. many thanks

i lost all my ether how do i get it back
Alex Van de Sande
@alexvandesande
@moneyteam79 how did you lose it?
moneyteam79
@moneyteam79
@alexvandesande I lost it in test net I was trying to send it to my wallet now it's completely gone I made a token a lost that too
i had over 400 coins
Alex Van de Sande
@alexvandesande
If you had it on testnet then it’s not real ether.
You need to describe better how did you lose it
moneyteam79
@moneyteam79
so how do i get real ether
Bob Summerwill
@bobsummerwill
@moneyteam79 You can either mine coins yourself, or buy or be gifted them by other people, either directly or through exchanges. They all have ultimately come either from mining, or from the original pre-mine.

@moneyteam79
ether is just a little different then I'm use too

@everyone re:token example Could someone elucidate on the function approveAndCall, the line
tokenRecipient spender = tokenRecipient(_spender)
It seems that spender is not typed, is this an example of type deduction? Further, by what solidity mechanism is the address _spender being associated with contract tokenRecipient? ie. Why the parens ?

@intelligentspaz3
can i mine ethers with just my laptop?
Rodolfo Emmanuel
@intelligentspaz3
anyone?
Grzegorz Kapkowski
@gkapkowski
@intelligentspaz3 That depends on your laptop but I wouldn't have much hope. You can check with ethminer -G -M (afair) how much MH/s you get on your GPU
Mining with CPU only will not give you much (anything)
Xplorer75
@Xplorer75
Thanks ;-)
Rodolfo Emmanuel
@intelligentspaz3
@gkapkowski 1000.000
Grzegorz Kapkowski
@gkapkowski
You'll need at least 1000000 (1MH/s) to get anything in resonable time
Rodolfo Emmanuel
@intelligentspaz3
1 million MH/s wow
It will take you an average of 0.22 day to find 1 Block
Grzegorz Kapkowski
@gkapkowski
One decent GPU can give you 20-25 MH/s
not 1 milion mh/s
1 mh/s
Rodolfo Emmanuel
@intelligentspaz3
how many ethers does the network rewards for finding 1 block
Grzegorz Kapkowski
@gkapkowski
You can get a lot of info on reddit
5 afair
Rodolfo Emmanuel
@intelligentspaz3
does that mean 5 * $10 where ethers price
$50
Grzegorz Kapkowski
@gkapkowski
yeah you get $50 per block
