Hi @Rincker , Could you please assist me with deploying s contract?
@SiphoMothamo Not sure right now. Maybe in two weeks time ;-) Ether that I 'lost' is back but stuck in the moved account. Not sure whether it is my mistake (wrong password)
Alex Van de Sande
@SiphoMothamo switch to the testnet, you’ll be able to mine your own ethers easily!
@luclu It seems that by moving the json I make the test account visible in the main network, but because I created the number in the test network it is not the same, meaning it has a different owner and password of the account it represents in the main network. So even though I can see the ETH send to it in my wallet, I can not send from it. Maybe I'm wrong but I think the ETH is still lost..
Alex Van de Sande
@Rincker the address you linked is an account, not a contract wallet. If you sent it to a testnet account then it’s recoverable, but if you sent to a testnet wallet, then you’re out of luck
@alexvandesande Can you point me to info on how to recover? It was send to a testnet account.

@alexvandesande I have not deployed a DAO, but a dao is essentially a contract right? So both dao address and contract address(token contract) are the same? Both the address are used to communicate or get that contract instance ?

It says contract Democracy clearly, but just making sure since DAO addresses were looking alittle different compared to the token contract ones.

I will be able to do a CONTRACT_NAME.at(addr_contract) and get my instance right?

Hope i am not asking silly questions
Alex Van de Sande
@morpheyesh it depends. You could deploy two contracts, a dao and a token, and you’d have two addresses. But yes, both are contracts

got it

Pardon me to be on here.. I am no developer. LOL
but I wonder if you could help with a few words
I have downloaded the wallet but Ichose the test net. since I dont know anything about coding. so I thought I could get familiar with the wallet before going main stream
How do I get to main stream now ?
Nitza Alfinas
Go to develop menu - main network
Develop - Network - Main network
hi,how we can set an account to confirm the done transaction with sample contract?
or for the testnet: https://testnet.etherscan.io/
I'm a new dev to ether, can someone provide a sample how to send your own currency from the cmd line? (not ether, but a custom currency)
looking for non-interactive way...
Helio Dias
Thank you, NItza
hey .. can someone tell a bi more about DAO ? I have just learned about it on coindesk...

@alexvandesande I need to check for a particular account if n number of balance exist from another contract. I am assuming it is possible to call another contract, but how?

One token contract with one account with few token balances
One check contract which will have to check the deployed token contract to see if the given address has got tokens or not.

If they are deployed together I can just do an import? or I need to use address to only call and get it?

How do i transfer ethers using contracts? I give out tokens to people, and I am the owner of an exchange contract, now the person who received the token wants to exchange it for some ethers(since i said 1 token = 1 ether) now how do i transfer ether from owners account(my acc) to the guy who transfered the token for ethers?
Yeshwanth Kumar
in short, the question is simple. I need to be able to transfer ethers through a contract and make it reflect when the other guys does eth.getbalance
Is anyone here>

hi.. just started to learn ethereum.. is there a simple end--2-end hello world example/tutorial that I can do step by step?
Makoto Inoue
@usudhir https://ethereum.org/token should be the first step but quite complex. https://ethereum.org/greeter may be a bit easier .
@usudhir I've tried various tutorials and their video walkthrough https://medium.com/@makoto_inoue

Hi, I have learned about creating a smart contract on MIST. Now I want to create a smart contract using MIX which my goal is running this contract on a browser.

I am learning this https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/Mix:-The-DApp-IDE#deployment-to-network tutorial.
After complete the contract.sol and index.html
I run the geth --testnet command in the terminal (I am using Mac).
Then, I stuck on how to deploy.
In Ethereum node URL says, "Unable to contact Ethereum node on http://localhost:8545"

Would anyone please point me to the complete tutorial or how to solve this?

I am not able to configure morden testnet ..Everytime i get error like -->Genesis block configuration is corrupted or not found ./resources/genesis/...
Can anyone help me to configure morden-testnet.
Hi, i'm new to the system. I just used Poloniex to exchange bitcoins for ether. I used Poloniex to send 2.60115625 ethers to my ethereum wallet in my main account ( etherbase). I used the adress at the right of the little key under Main account ( etherbase). Poloniex confirm the transfert have been complete. The problem is I don't see any ethers in my wallet. Thanks.
I have the same problem, except I was trying to send my Ether from my Poloniex account to one account I created with geth, and I think it's because my geth node has not been synchronized with updated blocks yet... which is the biggest problem I have now...
I've been using the command "geth --cache=1024 --jitvm console" to try to synchronize my node, in the beginning it was fast, but then it got stuck, at around block #1185000, only doing a few blocks at a time, then stayed idle for days, until I exit and redo it, and it may move a few block again, or not at all...
I had tried the --fast option some people suggested, it only works for the beginning, but then got stuck/slow down like what I described
I had also tried using "admin.addPeer" to connect some supposedly "good nodes" for quicker results, none working either.
Help, anyone?

Hello :)!, I'm following this tutorial: https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/Dapp-using-Meteor and i have troubles :(, I'm working remotely with a centos distro and running geth with the next command: geth --identity "genesisNode" --genesis customGenesis.json --rpc --rpcport "11235" --rpccorsdomain "*" --datadir "./data" --port "11236" --nodiscover --ipcapi "admin,db,eth,debug,miner,net,shh,txpool,personal,web3" --rpcapi "db,eth,net,web3" --autodag --networkid 1123 5 --nat "any"

My init.js:
if(typeof web3 === 'undefined')
web3 = new Web3(new Web3.providers.HttpProvider('http://dadevop.com:11235'));

But when i visit the page (in my physical computer) and try to check the accounts with 'web3.eth.accounts' i have the next error:
Uncaught Error: CONNECTION ERROR: Couldn't connect to node http://dadevop.com:11236.

Hello peeps... does anyone know if there's a call on solidity to get fee estimation for an operation? i want to deduct fees from an amount i'm sending inside a contract
