Hi, I am trying to deploy The Shareholder Association contract but I receive an error:
Undeclared identifier.
ProposalTallied(proposalNumber, result, quorum, p.proposalPassed);
for 'result'
I already created my own token and it worked without any problem
Does everyone get this problem ?
and i am using Mist on the test network
insidious ( Andrew Plaza )
@InsidiousMind
so how do you deploy contracts on the network?
Yoichi Hirai
@pirapira
@InsidiousMind the only way I know is to send a transaction from geth.
@Stigjf which tutorial are you following?
ashbringerf
@ashbringerf
Hi every one, may I know can I build a transaction inside of a contract?
Alex
@mintheredonethat
@ashbringerf From my understanding, contracts can only send messages (not transactions) to other contracts, as transactions need to be signed by an externally owned account. Someone please feel free to confirm/correct me.
Jeffrey Anthony
@jeffanthony
Ethereum cannot tell the difference between a human and a contract account. I'm not sure about 'building' a transaction inside a contract but afaik it can send a transaction if it has been programmed to do so.
Yoichi Hirai
@pirapira
@jeffanthony EXTCODESIZE instruction can tell if an address has some code or no code.
Stigjf
@Stigjf
@pirapira I tried to paste the code of the Shareholder Association: https://ethereum.org/dao#the-shareholder-association
@pirapira and i received the error : Undeclared identifier. ProposalTallied(proposalNumber, result, quorum, p.proposalPassed); and 'result' is underlined
@pirapira I already tried the codes of Token and Blockchain Congress and it worked without any issues
Yoichi Hirai
@pirapira
I get the same error.
Replace result with 0 and the code compiles...
but the tutorial is broken there.
@Stigjf will you document the compilation error here? https://github.com/ethereum/ethereum-org/issues/new

If I am creating a name registry contract (register, deregister name/address pair) and have the following mappings:

mapping (bytes32 => address) public addresses;
mapping (address => bytes32) public names;

How would I go about iterating over these mappings? My goal is to have a front-end that simply displays a table of names & associated addresses.

ashbringerf
@ashbringerf
@mintheredonethat Thank, I think you are right.

Hi all. Is there any guide/tutorial for a ethereum hackaton event? Or some tips on what is the best way to setup machines to become 'ethereum development' ready?

Hi all. When a new change is done on a solidity-browser code, how can I make it work for existing contracts? Currently, when I change the code, only new contracts are impacted.

Hi everyone, I'm trying a create a crowdsale using the Ethereum contract. I want the users to be able to pay with debit/credit card.
Currently, my approach would be to use Coinbase API to accept payment of any form, and purchase Ether, then use the Ether to purchase my released token
Does anyone have experience in doing this? I'm just looking for advice in general since I haven't tried doing this yet
Stigjf
@Stigjf
@pirapira Thx, it worked ! I have just created my own crowdsales platform thanks to your advice.
BardoBravo
@BardoBravo
@Stigjf What was the advice?
Stigjf
@Stigjf
@BardoBravo @pirapira
I get the same error.
Replace result with 0 and the code compiles...
@BardoBravo It was an error in the code of the Shared Association
