@phalexo Let me ask you since you seem to have more experience with launching a token. I am looking for a way to launch without using the terminal. Perhaps you know of a wallet or site that helps with this. I tried Parity Ethereum and Ethereum Wallet but can't seem to get either to work. In both I get close but at the end I can't seem to mine the Eth or figure how to transfer Bitcoin to the wallet.
@dkonig1234 My experience has been with Rinkeby testnet. I don't know what you mean with "transfer Bitcoin to the wallet." You have to CONVERT your bitcoin to Ether using an exchange, and your wallet can control private/public keys. Wallets do NOT contain any ether, all the balance data is in the blockchain. Wallets only manage keys for different account addresses.
hello guys i want to make my own cryptocurrency is this possible here
the same question
and also a quick one, why we need a token to get started?
anyone also knows if there is a way to avoid downloading all the blocks locally?
hello everyone, i have ready smart contracts written in solidity to create my new cryptocurrency token. I have set totalsupply, name and symbol. But i didn't find any help in tutorials that how can i set initial rate of my cryptocurrency. Please help me to set rate of my coin ? Thank You
opinions on ether in short term future and long term future
is opening the wallet download and it downloading blocks supposed to stop? is says downloading blocks (25 peers) block 800000 of 4000000
it doesnt seem to be progressing. I am using a laptop
I thought I was just trying to make my own currency
ahh I see a lot of people having problems with this... Gonna be a hard sale if this stuff isnt more user friendly
@phalexo : The good and the great are seldom the same person.
Hello I have a great Idea for ethereum smart contracts. I want to fund the start up with ICO. Can anyone here help
@cecote20 : What do you need help with ?
wow, so all the questions are in that same line of thoughts. I guess not being user-friendly is part of the game.
User-friendly implies simplicity, there is rather complex idea behind blockchain
I used the ethereum.org/token example contract to create a token with Ethereum Wallet. I paid the gas but it's been running for 5 days now. Is there any kind of minimum wallet balance needed above the ETH to pay the gas)? My wallet sync'd but it still shows "creating contract".
I'm trying to create a token on mainnet.
Hi, can I use windows to create a coin?
I couldn't. Google "ethereum wallet stuck creating contract" and you will see many others have the same problem.
why the error is "web3.isConnected is not a function"?
@cecote20 I am sure you can pay someone to help, with USD.
i need to create token..i dont know coding..kindly guide step by step
@greatyaqi are you working on private networking than you should start geth with web3
Is there any guide to setup a public node for parity?
There definitely seems to be a bug with Ethereum Wallet/Mist 0-9-0. I use the ethreum.org/token sample with no modifications. Created 100M tokens and paid the gas. A week later, it still shows "creating contract" even though it's sync'd a few times and my wallet has been debited the transaction fee. I've seen reports on the web about Ethereum Wallet getting "stuck" but never saw any resolutions to this problem.
@aphilsmith Apparently this bug is exclusively afflicting you, because the blockchain is awash in crappy contracts from people who just dump whatever half-cooked example they can find in there without first spending some time to understand things.
hello, i have deployed my new coins on ethereum main network. i'm trying to search my token on etherscan but unable to find there. How or when will we able to see there ? I deployed today. Thank You for the help
@phalexo No, this is not unique to me, and there are many reports similar to this. Copying the example: https://ethereum.org/token#the-code and pasting into Solidity, filling out the form, deploying it, paying the gas and submitting it. Only trouble is, it stays in a "creating contract" and there are no confirmations. Ever.
Hello team, please anyone help answering that how long process take my coins/token to be public once after i verified source code and published. Right now i'm unable to search my token.
My three-part "Beginners' Guide to Ethereum" series is now complete; took me a few months to finish up the third guide in the series, but it now is a complete set that guides users from the very beginning steps of creating wallets and purchasing their first ether, to interacting with smart contracts. Take a look over at https://steemit.com/ethereum/@midnight426/ethereum-beginners-guide-1-ether, and let me know if you find any errors or omissions, so I can fix them up!
but it throws an error everytime on line 58. Variable is declared as a storage pointer. Use an explicit "storage" keyword to silence this. string description;
can anyone help
how to create own currency
hello guys. nice to bee here and looking for help on how to create a token for our mobile chat app
@cafeespresso4 Make sure you're using the most up-to-date version of the Solidity compiler. Taking the current "Blockchain Congress" code from that page using the v0.4.16 Solidity compiler doesn't give that warning.
Hello there! I'm building an ethereum wallet. What node client would you guys recommend for this? I've used bcoin and lcoin in the past and they have a nice http api, is there an ethereum node client like that out there?
would this be valid ? bool = ( block.number > x && weiRaised > y);
in an if else statement that checks block.number, would it be better, from a memory consumption perspective, to assign block.number to a variable or call block.number in each comparison?
