@MidnightLightning
@cafeespresso4 Make sure you're using the most up-to-date version of the Solidity compiler. Taking the current "Blockchain Congress" code from that page using the v0.4.16 Solidity compiler doesn't give that warning.
@stifler-sanu Read the tutorial at https://ethereum.org/token
And @somidax too: the tutorial at https://ethereum.org/token shows how to create a token.

Hello there! I'm building an ethereum wallet. What node client would you guys recommend for this? I've used bcoin and lcoin in the past and they have a nice http api, is there an ethereum node client like that out there?

@eddie2024
would this be valid ? bool = ( block.number > x && weiRaised > y);
eddie2024
@eddie2024
in an if else statement that checks block.number, would it be better, from a memory consumption perspective, to assign block.number to a variable or call block.number in each comparison?

Hi everyone,

Are any of you interested in teaching an intermediate-advanced-level Ethereum course?

I'm starting an online blockchain course to provide rising Ethereum developers with personal code reviews, unique projects and a vibrant support community.

Your gig : Earn $25k for teaching the core intro series to Solidity/Web3/Truffle (~12 hours of video/screencast over 4 weeks) or $6k for teaching an advanced topic (~3 hours of video/screencast over 1 week), plus potentially much more $ from revenue sharing. Get in on the early stages of building a vibrant, global developer education community.

You: You’re a great communicator and developer. Ideally, you are recognized / highly accomplished within the blockchain community.

Does this sound like someone you know? Earn $1k for referring a teacher that we choose.

Introduce yourself, or send a way to contact your referral, to stephen@web3.academy

Any comments? I'd love your feedback on how to best serve the Ethereum development community.

Hi team i am new to blockchain . please help me ... is it possible to create minable coins on ethereum ?
jdmcwhinnie
@jdmcwhinnie
Why is the new mist ethereum wallet being so troublesome
phalexo
@phalexo
@jdmcwhinnie Because cryptocurrency tools are at the moment designed for technically sophisticated people, not the ignorant masses.
jdmcwhinnie
@jdmcwhinnie
Wow that's nice of you ass hole
Ntp updated geth --fast --cache=1024 and still fails at the very end. If phalexo can get mine going I will call him a sophisticated person and until then you are also part of the ignorant mass!
I've probably been doing this longer than you phalexo

What node client would you guys recommend for wallet development? I've used bcoin and lcoin in the past and they have a nice http api, is there an ethereum node client like that out there?
@Cristi12 these are the install instructions for go-ethereum
So does anyone ever answer questions in this gitter? I've seen a lot of questions and not a single one answered
Keno Leon
@KenoLeon
@arshbot not with that attitude no.
Harsha Goli
@arshbot
I'm sorry attitude?
Cristi12
@Cristi12
i installet gith , update it , i downloaded 0.9.0 etehereum wallet and start sync after sync got 41 % ethereum wallet closed all by it selfe (he closed at 1.000.200) i open it again and start sync form 1.000.200 to 1.376.788 and got stuck. .....i reopen it and now its growing up ... its ok ?
Harsha Goli
@arshbot
The only response in the last few days was one guy saying crypto was "not for the ignorant masses". Should I adopt that attitude? Will it get me farther?
Keno Leon
@KenoLeon
@arshbot Yes !
Harsha Goli
@arshbot
Alright assface, I don't want to use any shitty JSON-RPC api to make a convoluted interface between my application and the node. Any of you nerds know of a better node client with a somewhat usable api?
Cristi12
@Cristi12
evry time i reopen it doesnt start from scrach ist start were it remains...
sry bad english
Harsha Goli
@arshbot
The less autistic api the better. But you know, no points taken off for a little autism. I'll just make it better if it's inconsistent
Good enough @KenoLeon ?
Keno Leon
@KenoLeon
@arshbot Well at least you are not racist.
Harsha Goli
@arshbot
Gotta score points somewhere
But I do need an answer
Por favor
Keno Leon
@KenoLeon
@arshbot : If I knew or anybody else knew we would already have answered your question kind sir.
Harsha Goli
@arshbot
Damn
I really do not want to use rpc
Anyone know of a community for ethereum wallet devs?
Or wallet devs in general lol
Cristi12
@Cristi12
:worried:
Harsha Goli
@arshbot
@Cristi12 have you tried not using gith?
And using something else
Because it sounds like gith isn't working
I don't even know what gith is
Keno Leon
@KenoLeon
@arshbot It's geth, Command line ethereum tools.
Cristi12
@Cristi12
i try now geth --light
Harsha Goli
@arshbot
Sounds pretty user friendly. @Cristi12 are you working with terminal or do you have some desktop shit running? If you're new to this.. I'd recommend going with something with a gui
Keno Leon
@KenoLeon
@Cristi12 : Do you need to run a full node, initial sync takes for ever depending on your hardware connection, etc. Can't you use another client like parity ? Would love to help you but I need to know what you are trying to achieve.
