@holisticode
and
Viktor Trón
@zelig
yes it better be rewritten in the client
holisticode
@holisticode
and is overlay still a good backend to use for frontend?
Viktor Trón
@zelig
yes
holisticode
@holisticode
:+1:
I'll try refactoring overlay to be rewritten in the client
I guess the discovery test is a good example?
Viktor Trón
@zelig
btw i am still struggling with the discovery test as we speak ... :(
Lewis Marshall
@lmars
it is only the mocking that we decided to move
the discovery_test doesn't use a mocker
well, I don't think it does :)
orenyodfat
@orenyodfat
@zelig I tried to address your comment at ethersphere/swap-swear-and-swindle#7
Daniel A. Nagy
@nagydani
@zelig sorry for not responding yesterday. Yes, we can have a call.
Meanwhile, I have read the latest PSS spec by @nolash .
I have some questions.
I have not yet read your latest SSS iteration, though. Intend to do it in the next hour.
lash
@nolash
@nagydani great! do the questions fit this room / the PR, or should it be done via call?
Daniel A. Nagy
@nagydani
I'll ask them here.
But let me read @zelig 's comments first.
Daniel A. Nagy
@nagydani
Okay, it's mostly language.
Daniel A. Nagy
@nagydani
So, my first question is how exactly cached delivery works and why does the payload of PSS messages consist of anything other than the swarm hash of the ciphertext?
Could you give me an example how a message gets delivered, if the intended recipient is offline at the moment of sending? It was not clear at all for me after reading the readme.
Nick Savers
@nicksavers
@zelig ignore my PR... I just saw that @orenyodfat already had an update PR ready
Viktor Trón
@zelig
BMT hash merged to master ethereum/go-ethereum#14334 :clap:
next up: pyramid chunker ethereum/go-ethereum#14382 @jmozah or I will rebase (and need some renaming to comply with the BMT)
Zahoor Mohamed
@jmozah
hurray
Viktor Trón
@zelig
simulations PR in review by felix I hope...
lash
@nolash
@nagydani delayed delivery is not implemented now, and depends on resource updates which is still far away.
Cache now is only to avoid flood or backwards routing
So if a recipient is offline, currently he will not get the message
Furthermore, the pss messages actually transport content. They are not just links to swarm content. They could be, but how to guarantee that the content can instantaneously be retrieved on the other side?
Viktor Trón
@zelig
resource update notifications are not necessarily far away..
Lewis Marshall
@lmars
@zelig great news :)
Daniel A. Nagy
@nagydani
But is delayed delivery specified already?
Viktor Trón
@zelig
standup please?

Zahoor Mohamed
@jmozah
i can join using this link...
Lewis Marshall
@lmars
@/all swarm-gateways is down, is anyone around who can get it back online?
Nick Savers
@nicksavers
@homotopycolimit?
Nick Savers
@nicksavers
@zelig @orenyodfat shouldn't the swap-swear-swindle repository contain the swap (chequebook) contract? I can't find it. Not in the add_registrarbranch either.
Viktor Trón
@zelig
i think of them as quite independent at this stage
this repo is just to do preliminary dev
@jmozah is looking into restarting the testnet cluster
@jmozah could you create a wiki page for the chunker hook stuuff and propose a design?
Viktor Trón
@zelig
@lmars i decided to ditch the waitgroups from the API, even internally we will get rid of network upload signal cos it makes no sense, plus make store call block until all chunks are stored in db as per your suggestion
Zahoor Mohamed
@jmozah
@zelig there is some kube related error in the cluster…have asked james.. i am getting "Error from server: client: etcd cluster is unavailable or misconfigured” .. dont know what it means
lash
@nolash
@nagydani did my replies answer your questions, and did you have others? :)
Viktor Trón
@zelig
somewhat updated version of the orange paper in PR form so you can comment line by line on the text https://github.com/ethersphere/swarm-docs/pull/5/files
