I didn't create Xorg.conf so it uses the default. But Mesa isn't a DDX, which is intel in my case. I have Mesa on my desktop and it works, but with modesetting (on nvidia gpu), so not the same environment. What could I do? It's not a really big deal if I don't make it work, my laptop is more for work.

I was just looking into props_skyportal, because I'm thinking of making a sample scene-from-theme to test and show the use or limits of this technique and I came over this thread.

I doubt you ever heard anything further in the matter?

Never investigated that I believe
Never felt the need to use that entity probably

Is it wise to open a bug ticket until someone has the time to investigate this? Or at least until it is officially confirmed or busted

I'd prefer a confirmation first before opening a ticket, to make sure that this entity is the real culprit on several PCs
