i wonder is this similar problem: i noticed that some custom field was required in our system, was upset that someone made that field required in our system. but then i did edit issue, and the field was no longer required. so apparently it's not configured as required, but "went red" on issue create page. so any ideas on that?
as for release, no problem making another one, just would be nice to have more changes in it. and in fact i made last few releases just because the changeset went pretty big already ;) i even had pretty much changes to dig trough to find that issue-routing bug.

The "Red" is just the "internal" color. Anything that is restricted to above "customer" level . No idea why scheduled release is restricted from customers. Also that doesn't apply to people who don't use the CRM api... For your custom field, is it set to standard user or above?

odd is that some fields do not have min_role filled in admin

ok, i looked over the admin view, and the field is marked "target forms" "report form" and "required field"

it came me as surprise that you can set "required" state per form, not per field itself
btw, what you think of renaming "Initial Description" to just "Description"? as we edit the description area very often, so the word "Initial" is rather misleading

I'd be okay with changing that. We actually use it as "Initial Description" but I think just calling it "Description" will be fine
