@mappelgren Translating (d, label) |*> datamaker(cls) into datamaker(cls)(d, label), you can see why datamaker(cls, d, label) doesn't work: datamaker takes 1 argument ,cls, and returns a function that can then be used to construct that cls. If you wanted a function that worked the other way, you could do something like

def makedata(cls, *args, **kwargs) = datamaker(cls)(*args, **kwargs)

(I think there's a case to be made that that's a better signature for the function to have, so I just raised #303 to track that.)
