great idea about using the razor engine to produce our templates I like it
I've added you as a global admin to azure using ewilde@hotmail.com so you should have access

i'll leave it in the branch and just wire in a different implementation for now
sorry meant the razor template
it doesn't like powershell syntax

but i used it in the past to template generate html emails and that was fine

i guess html is it's sweet spot, which makes sense

as far as I can tell its all setup correctly but the domain doesnt resolve. But what worries me is that the domain they give you out of the box ie cranebuild.cloudapp.net
doesnt bring up the vm
although the ip address is mapped correctly

not sure if you have to select something to enable web traffic and its disabled by default

yeah normally everything is blocked by the firewall
and you need to open all ports explicitly
most of the stuff we already kind of are aware of
but might be some ideas of stuff to try out in our 20% time

finally got the azure vm visible to the internet http://teamcity.cranebuild.com/
for info you have to add a firewall inbound rule on the vm itself to allow traffic on port 80
you also have to add an endpoint in azure which is essentially a load balancer rule to allow requests on port 80
