Are accounts on self-hosted exceptionless still sent to exceptionless.io? Can we use our own authentication?

no
They are all hosted and contained in your self hosted instance
We support standard password or oauth on self hosted installs for oauth you need to configure it.. You could always set up something custom with iis as well
does this make sense?
You still need to set a custom server url when configuring your clients

Uh almost. How would I do the IIS authentication with exceptionless? I'm talking about being able to login to the web interface if that matters, not using the API
The problem is we have domain accounts that require password resets every x days. I don't want to force everyone to have to create an account and then be out of sync when password updates are required

We currently don’t tie into ad
I’m not 100% sure as I never use iis / web.config level auth stuff but I think there should be a web.config setting to enable auth on just the app portion..
You could always just have them create a local user name and pass or share one

That's not a bad idea. I'll try that, thanks!

After thinking through it, single account won't really work because of the email notifications

oh yeah that is true
would be nice to have ad integration
although we’d never use it in production would be nice to have locally

Any idea how I should go about that?

I haven’t looked into it at all
but I’m assuming you;’d need to update the AuthController
Maybe the login method

How do you do release builds of the API?
Blake Niemyjski

how do we push them into production?
We do it with git deploy

I meant to generate the github release packages, but I think I've got it figured out.
Does production mode generate logs? If so, where could I find them?

okay
Both sites have logging but in production you shouldn’t enable it unless you are ready for a bunch of messages :D
