That stinks

when you run gulp clean typescript.node this can be easily observed in the dist/temp/src folder
exceptionless.node.js.map contains
"sources":["exceptionless.node.ts"]
that means it only references the bundled ts source file

@frankebersoll @ejsmith I’m a bit worried about how were copying values with out our @ref: into our indexed field
it could collide with existing values
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Jan 16 2016 00:34
nope, because it needs to have it’s own dynamic template
for ref type fields.
which means it won’t collide.
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Jan 16 2016 00:34
what do you mean?
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Jan 16 2016 00:35
the idx properties get setup from matching a dynamic template
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Jan 16 2016 00:35
do you mean that were going to copy them into that field with the prefox
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Jan 16 2016 00:35
like string-00001
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Jan 16 2016 00:35
ok
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Jan 16 2016 00:35
matches string*
and sets settings for string values
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Jan 16 2016 00:35
ok
so I don’t need to strip prefixes?
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Jan 16 2016 00:35
we need to detect that this is a @ref:
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Jan 16 2016 00:35
when they get copied
ok
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Jan 16 2016 00:35
and use ref-00001
and add a dynamic template for that type that matches ref*
and sets it to not analyzed
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Jan 16 2016 00:36
do you want to commit that while I work on this?
would help a lot
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Jan 16 2016 00:37
should be able to work on it tonight.
still at work
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Jan 16 2016 00:38
ok
do we want to convert session:id into data.idx.session-s ?
might be a nice little helper
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Jan 16 2016 00:38
huh?
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Jan 16 2016 00:39
for our queries
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Jan 16 2016 00:39
we are removing session as a 1st class thing.
it’s no different than all the other references
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Jan 16 2016 00:39
ok
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Jan 16 2016 00:39
and it would never be data.idx.session-s
it would be data.session
that will get translated behind the scenes to idx.ref-000001
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Jan 16 2016 00:40
yeah I know
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Jan 16 2016 00:41
could’ve fooled me :-)
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Jan 16 2016 00:42
won’t all our stats be off by 1
because were excluding session start events
esp since clients are submitting them
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Jan 16 2016 00:42
good
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Jan 16 2016 00:42
how is that good
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Jan 16 2016 00:42
session start is not an event that happened in a session
its a marker
a container
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Jan 16 2016 00:42
it is in the winforms and wpf
yeah I guess
funny going from my big dell monitor to just this retina makes it feel really small

I got it all updated to use the new reference ids and it all works
I need to go spend time with my sick gf
the things that are left is custom index templates for the ref fields and translating the query to use the index fields.
can you complete this?
and yes my unit tests pass :)
