@BillHenning @here please let me know what you think of the site. Let me know if it snappy or slower...
should be a little bit quicker around the board. everything is going through our generic stats end points and the payloads are lots smaller
@srijken I also pushed massive improvements to bulk actions (backend).. Front end improvements to selection will be coming soon.
Sander Rijken

Yes it does seem snappier. Nice work! BTW, I'm not sure if this is possible but can you give an initial height to the chart area? Right now when a page loads, it is zero height and then at some later async time pops into place, pushing everything down. It would be nice if it worked more like an image where you specify the height it is, so it initially takes up that vertical space and content below doesn't slide down when it later populates. Maybe that isn't possible though but just offering it as a suggestion if it is.

has anyone played around with the application warm up stuff in asp.net?
supposedly you can use it to get Azure to auto swap your app once it's warmed up
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 15:11
I think there are bugs with it
Or at least was
I remember working with someone on a support issue and it had to do with the restart code doing something crazy, but that was a few years ago
I'd check the forums:)
I love the image they used. from a 1970 road runner..

Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 18:45
Eating three different cakes

Ah, Ui stuff that I found and didn't like and some backend stuff
Do you need something specific?
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 18:46
No new reports, like the country one? :)
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 18:46
Not right now, we'll do that one in the near future
Stats APIs are in place, we'll need to build out Ui widgets for that
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 18:47
Cool, can't wait to see what you come up with.
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 18:50
Yeah baby steps
I'm going to fix a regression with logging tags not showing up
Also fixing an issue where log message formatting could be much better
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:07

@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:21
@BillHenning you should take a look at gitkraken
it’s really nice and it has git flow stuff built in
it works on osx / windows too
has really cool blame / history viewing features
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:22
looks all right but i'm plenty happy with SourceTree
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:22

Mar 10 2016 19:24
there is some serious drama going on with it.
something about it being a disasterous project.
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:25
which one, SourceTree or Gitkraken?
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:28
ha, yeah i'm on v1.7 and refuse to upgrade to their latest because they completely made the UI suck (crappy Metro gray with inconsistent design) and it had tons of bugs when i tried it too... v1.7 on the other hand looks pretty good and other than a minor bug here and there, it works great for my workflow
as it said in that article, they removed the GitFlow icon... that was a biggie for me since I use it all the time in v1.7
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:29
you should look at gitkraken
git flow is 1st class
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:29
it is in v1.7 too

Mar 10 2016 19:36

cool
gitkraken is made by my buddy’s company.
they seem to be getting some momentum with it.
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:36

Eric J. Smith

Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:38
hmm

does this let you only check out to a single main folder?
(i.e. project directory)
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:40
idk
maybe
I always check out the root
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith

Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:40

Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Mar 10 2016 19:41
think you can point it to any folder.
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:42
i guess i was confused on the settings project dir thing
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Mar 10 2016 19:42
think that is just default
do you use any merge tools?
I use beyond compare and it found it for me automatically.
beyond compare is awesome. :-)
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:43
yes, i use araxis merge
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Mar 10 2016 19:43
did it find that one for you?
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:43
beyond compare is made in madison wisconsin :)
Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Mar 10 2016 19:43

@ejsmith
Mar 10 2016 19:43

Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:43
nope
didn't find it and i can't add it
that sucks
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:44
it’s in general
file a bug
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:46
yeah honestly, while this has a more modern UI, i don't think i'd be as effective in it
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:46
give it a day or two
I felt the same
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:46
just simple things like not having a list of repos on the side sucks
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:47
click on the folder
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:47
i like to see the full list and pending change stuff
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:47
it will show you a list
you can do all of that
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:47
huh? what folder?
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:47
upper left
you can switch between repos and even add / clone ones
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:47
that lists some things out but doesn't show pending changes
i can see at a glance in ST that i have modified several repos
i copy files around a lot
to various repos
so that lets me know if things have changed and need committing
with GK, i'd have to click through each repo
that sucks :)
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:50
send some feedback
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:51
just did and uninstalling... won't work for me :)
i can check it out in the future again if they add that stuff... would be nice to get on an app that's actively being developed... SourceTree devs won't listen to a thing you say
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:54
you now have 750k events
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 19:54
i still might blow that at the rate i'm going, but it will be close :)
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Mar 10 2016 19:55

Eric J. Smith
@ejsmith
Mar 10 2016 19:59
it’s ok @BillHenning some day I will drag you into the 21st century. :-)
Bill Henning
@BillHenning
Mar 10 2016 20:00
hehe, we'll it's silly to upgrade to a shiny new app when it ruins your productivity
at least i'm not still on SVN! sheesh
new suggestion: exceptionless/Exceptionless.UI#81
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski

just came across that in our logs
I think it has to do with a property being null
            _logger.Error().Project(projectId).Property("EventId", id).Message("__ExceptionInfo is Too Big: {1}", json.Length).Write();
eventid could be null

@ejsmith @pwelter34 looks like it was because my string message format was in the wrong format...
guess we probably should blow up on that...
