@niemyjski
thanks I'm trying that now
@fduverger I just had to force close vs, wouldn't allow me to create a virtual directory without being admin
Frank
@fduverger
Do you want me to create the issue on the Exceptionless or Exceptionless UI repository?
UI?
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
exceptionless.net
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
@fduverger waiting on buid
that's why the 404 error wasn't sent in
Frank
@fduverger
Let me read it
Kelly Elton
@kellyelton
How do I look into errors that happen within exceptionless itself?
is there like a logging location or something?
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
yeah
Create a project
Kelly Elton
@kellyelton
The webapi keeps throwing me back 500 errors when loading projects or orginizations or anything
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
and then set the internal project id of the project id you created
and then set the the new projects api key in the web.config as well
then look at the nlog config and tell it to log to exceptionless and rachet it up
:)
@kellyelton you could also hit the status page /api/v2/status
Kelly Elton
@kellyelton
I don't feel like we're on the same page, sorry
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
that would check everything and return whats not working
Kelly Elton
@kellyelton
{
"message": "All Systems Check",
"version": "2.0.1321 a6c02fdeeb"
}
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
hmm
Kelly Elton
@kellyelton
I can log in and stuff. I also looked into the mongodb and all my data is there
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
via your web app create a new exceptionless project
call it Exceptionless or what ever
then set https://github.com/exceptionless/Exceptionless/blob/master/Source/Api/Web.config#L37 to the new project id you jsut created (get it from the url
then set the api key to the new projects api key you just created https://github.com/exceptionless/Exceptionless/blob/master/Source/Api/Web.config#L6
and stand back
lol
Kelly Elton
@kellyelton
But the api project itself...oh wait..you mean in the api project itself set that
ok
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
yeah
the server :)'s web.config
it will then send every log message / error to that project
brb meeting
Kelly Elton
@kellyelton
ok...yeah it's not logging
I also checked the eventlog in windows but didn't see any errors
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
give me a few
Kelly Elton
@kellyelton
ok
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
I'm in a meeting right now
Kelly Elton
@kellyelton
Yeah I was just updating you, I think I might be heading out soon also
not trying to rush you
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
okay, if you want to meet up in the morning
I can meet up with you and debug it
