@Workshop2
In that status, if I "NLog.LogManager.GetLogger("ErrorLog")" then it says none of the logging statuses are enabled
but only when the exceptionless target is added
I haven't found much documentation around NLog for exceptionless - been trying to get it working for a while now :S
Simon C
@Workshop2
ok
sorry everyone
my fault - I put the extensions outside of the nlog section
Simon C
@Workshop2
How can I get the Exceptionless NLog plugin to use the default client (ApiKey, ServerUrl and SSL settings) & also contain MVC/Web tracking information such as URL...
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
@Workshop2 It should do this by default
But for the tracking information such as request info, you'll need to set the context property with the action context / http context
.ContextProperty("HttpActionContext", ActionContext)
like that
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
@Workshop2 were you not seeing the api key being picked up by the nlog target?
@hmemcpy what all packages do you have installed?
Blake Niemyjski

@Workshop2 the last comment was for you. If you need any help, please let me know.. We are here to help you

@rajanbhayana
sorry. amateur question. i have setup a new VM using the code on github. API seems to come up. redis/elastic seach installed and working. how do i get to the dashboard? what is the link?
rajan bhayana
@rajanbhayana
my bad. asked too quickly. i see separate code on git.
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
@rajanbhayana we will have a new release out soon that is a single zip that's all pre configured :)

@rajanbhayana
@niemyjski way past tht. have UI and API working on same machine now. just struggling with the clients now. so to test, i have made a account using UI. then i check the same using swaggerUI to see if UI and API are connected and i get a token back. so i am assuming. that UI and API are well connected. now my client is trying to hit the api. no error thrown. but when I go to dashboard. nada. have updated API key and serverurl on my clients. tried sample console , web and window app. not working. so wondering where i am going wrong. is there any API log generated on server that i can check to see if messages were received and saved?
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
.You can enable logging via the nlog config
What I would check for is to see if the app data folder has queued items and check redis if you are using it for queued items
Are your running the jobs in process?
rajan bhayana
@rajanbhayana
there is something in app_Date/q folder.
jobs. umm. no.
rajan bhayana
@rajanbhayana
there is data in storage folder and its updated regularly. api show me data. i think the error is somewhere here. my API is on port 80 and ui on 8081. so its a cross origin error.
EventSource cannot load http://exceptionlessvm.cloudapp.net/api/v2/push/reconnect?transport=serverS…9syltJMKhs%3D&connectionData=%5B%7B%22name%22%3A%22messages%22%7D%5D&tid=0. No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://exceptionlessvm.cloudapp.net:8081' is therefore not allowed access. The response had HTTP status code 500.

Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Ahh two thinngs
You need to use our elastic search yml config that's in the repo
Dynamic scripting needs to be enabled for posts to be processed
The base url on the app.config.js needs to be your Ali end point and not the Ui project
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
@rajanbhayana where you able to get this working?
rajan bhayana
@rajanbhayana
@niemyjski yes. thanks heap for all the help. got it working after moving yml file. the only issue i see is on the invite module. keep getting 404 so checking that. post that. all is good. just one question. i get redis and elasticSearch, but is mangoDB still required. it was on the article i followed for setup.

@ObaidUrRehman
Hey guys, I just looked into Exceptionless.JavaScript. Do we have an Angular wrapper for that?
Sander Rijken
@srijken
ehm test..?
ah.. previous message didn't get through
Obaid ur Rehman
@ObaidUrRehman
@srijken Thanks.
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
If you have any questions please let us know
we've been using it in our angular app for a month or so
@rajanbhayana yes I updated the docs a bit early mongo is required but will be removed as soon as we release 3.0 which has been in testing for about 1.5 weeks
Obaid ur Rehman
@ObaidUrRehman
@niemyjski I'd appreciate if can you point me to any guide on how to get started with that angular integration?
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
Please give me 1 minute and I'll send you the info :)
Obaid ur Rehman
@ObaidUrRehman
awesome :-)
Blake Niemyjski
@niemyjski
so all you need to do is bring that angualr integrations file in
okay
as in include it with your bundle..
Then bring in the exceptionless module 'exceptionless'
