Hey Juan thanks for the share..this turned up recently on reddit..its a remix of an Openbuild design with the attempt to make it more rigid..it looks nice if you want to build one with alu profiles but the work area is a little small and i guess its nice for design inspiration :)

For the Desktop CNC something like this would be nice.. https://www.revo.com.tr/en/ .. this is a commercial turkish design with a full enclosure and 1.5KW spindle that can easily machine aluminium. But i guess this is the kind of design we are looking at for a desktop CNC mill something that is enclosed and able to cut/mill aluminium of thickness 10-15mm along with PCB milling and etc..

Something that looks like this..fits on a desktop and can machine parts in aluminium like the one above :P

Is someone in Hamburg currently working in building a machine? (3D printer, CNC,...)

We have just started the project last month..so currently was the search for various DIY machines done by people..I will be updating the github wiki with the finds...then the plan is to come up with a design in time..for now we starting with a small DIY 3D printer..

There is a list of machines like a 3D printer, desktop CNC, Large format CNC (router), laser cutter, vinyl cutter and so on..

Cool that needs to be organized as well since its some kind of syncro with MKdocs i guess..still a little confused with how that works..so once thats figured out the wiki should filling out

Yes, I saw the structure in the github with all the machines. Also saw that for the 3d printer there are multiple options, some are very impressive

We are starting with the hypercube evolution design for now..its a nice little fully opensource coreXY cubic design by Scott3D on thingiverse..will fill up the log soon. Start with it and make mods on it as required

by the way, we have our own gitlab server now: gitlab.fabcity.hamburg

the repos that are on the gitlab.com instance now are being exported to our own gitlab instance

you should be able to create an account there. and we need help to configure it

i have created a new subgroup "agriculture" and moved your considerations, juan, into the readme file

but maybe that is not so smart. trying to clone your original document to the agriculture repo now

it would be easier if you merge it into the new repo yourself, so everyone sees that you created it, juan

we can export the whole fab city group to the private one later

by the way, there is a 15 million euro application running for fab city agriculture in schleswig holstein that we are just becoming part of. will let you know more, when things become more clear there

A quick update about Plovdiv: We had a call last week with Ida and base on her recommendation we are exchanging emails with Alessandra about Make Works. It looks like an excellent platform to realized the idea about virtual map of the local manufacturing facilities, maker and co-working spaces as well as supply chain.
