    Very clear that they can't and will not support us financially. We need access to supporters and trainined qualified newcomers ready to startup a business.
    Nina Breznik
    @ninabreznik
    I think this is what they are trying to do... to map all the players on the field.
    So they connect with "incubators" and similar who are or can support newcomers
    So they are info/research partner i guess
    Will have a call later around 18h
    They are preparing trainings for newcomers and would need our help to reach out to them, but then, we can ask for contra-favour or see how else we can partner up.
    They seem to be more into training newcomers for jobs, but we can maybe get access to those who want to start companies.

    hey @AshrafNassef , just a quick update - we are bringing this MVP specification and estimations to an end, just so you know - we didnt forget about it, but we are fully working on it. have a nice weekend, talk to you soon :-)

    @AshrafNassef
    Thank you very much dear for the update

    Statistics

    In general, germany has according to wikipedia ~53 million employed people and again according to wikipedia ~81 million population. So that's 5.83 million self employed.
    If the rates will long term follow the usual pattern then, from ~1.5 million refugees - following the same pattern would mean potentially 0.98 million employed and 0.1 in self employment, that's roughly 100.000 of all newcomers in germany will be self employed in the future
    Alexander Praetorius
    @serapath
    • This article says that migrants are more often self employed than germans => means eventually there will be more than 100.000 newcomers self employed in germany alone - ...and even way more given the general trend for more self employment

    Maybe you could send Ashraf also a FB message, just in case he misses this...

    @AshrafNassef
    I got it
    Thank you very much Alex. Very Useful.

    @serapath
    haha :-) wonderful. ok perfect
    I will also later the day finish the research regarding mobile app costs in general
    AshrafNassef
    @AshrafNassef
    It was a great pleasure talking to you both last night
    Nina Breznik
    @ninabreznik
    Same here
    I like our work
    AshrafNassef
    @AshrafNassef
    It is always great to brainstorm with you
    Alexander Praetorius
    @serapath
    I guess the sources can be improved, but a first rough skimming and calculation says there will be quite a few new self employed people in germany alone... basically the MVP costs aprox 1 EUR per self employed newcomer :P
    AshrafNassef
    @AshrafNassef
    Alex. please remember to send me the study/research on app cost you mentioned
    This is a great argument
    1 EUR per self employed newcomer
    Nina Breznik
    @ninabreznik
    Nice
    AshrafNassef
    @AshrafNassef
    I have one more question regarding the cost
    I think such platform will require a regular follow up in terms of technical support and solve any problem that may appear
    How does such support gets normally organized?
    Annual support contracts?
    Nina Breznik
    @ninabreznik
    It is true. Usually there is a monthly fee that covers server costs and mantainance.
    Alexander Praetorius
    @serapath
    Very likely - there will be a "backend" that will be permanently and it probably needs some kind of basic maintainance - the size/cost of that backend depend heavily on the number of users - thus will become more expensive with the growth of users. So maybe an annual support contract is necessary, but this depends also on the kind of features that are added later
    Nina Breznik
    @ninabreznik
    I will add this to our proposal and send it over to you again.
    Alexander Praetorius
    @serapath
    So for the MVP and the included features and probably a small user base initially the costs for that are probably negligible compared to the costs for building the app
    AshrafNassef
    @AshrafNassef
    This would be good. Thank you.
    Alexander Praetorius
    @serapath

    I guess we would also need a roadmap for

    • which features to add later
    • how many users will start using the app

    because that estimation will depend mainly on the former and a bit on the latter

    AshrafNassef
    @AshrafNassef
    By the way, what is the name of your company? Is it fairy-dust?
    Nina Breznik
    @ninabreznik
    FairyDust is a brand but we each have our own micro holding: VisionBaker Ltd. and Seraseed Ltd. that co-own FairyDust agency.
    Nina Breznik
    @ninabreznik
    Hey, Ashraf, the proposal in updated now
    i added two optional fields: user testing and maintenance
    user testing is a focus group where we bring in few users and observe them how they use it and where the problems are so we can do final optimisations
    and maintenance is as said before costs for hosting the app, so server + maintenance of this server
    updates, monitoring etc.
