Are there examples of using Scenery?

We're currently working on that, I think we should have something ready beginning next week
Btw, if anyone has a wish list of what features would be helpful or required for your use case, let me know

I'm just taking a look at the java example, https://github.com/ClearVolume/ClearVolume/wiki/Integration-in-Java . If there was a sample pom.xml and a .java file that compiles would be pretty cool.

@kephale I was investigating inside-out meshes and it seems also to depend which machine I'm using (read, specific combinations of libraries). I totally support offloading libraries that do generic tasks into places that make them more reusable and less liable to this kind of bug. All the jiggery-pokery with 3D lately has meant that BoneJ1, which uses the old 3D Viewer's marching cubes and Java 3D (in particular, Point3f), is trapped at old versions of ImageJ. What we'll likely do is migrate all the 3D / meshing dependencies for BoneJ2 to the ImageJ2 way, which is a good point for discussion for @rimadoma's forthcoming trip to Madison.

On that note, @ctrueden @hinerm , how can I get the ImageJ2 version number to set a 'maximum compatible version' for BoneJ1 (so it warns the user ImageJ is too new).

@odinsbane: if you want to give the current code (no scenegraph) a shot, have a look at the demos in https://github.com/ClearVolume/ClearVolume/tree/master/src/java/clearvolume/demo
@odinsbane: and for example pom.xml have a look at https://github.com/ClearVolume/imglib2-clearvolume/blob/master/pom.xml

ConvertService.convert(Object src, Class<T> dest) pops open an image window when I run it. Is this a featuer, because in my case it's unwanted behaviour. Is there a way to prevent this?

@mdoube Get the version number using: appService.getApp().getVersion(). Be a little careful: you probably want the version of a particular App plugin, not just the "topmost" App, which is what getApp() returns.
So then you could write appService.getApp(ImageJApp.NAME).getVersion()
Or: appService.getApp("ImageJ").getVersion() for less type-safety.
@rimadoma The ConvertService is never supposed to pop any UI. That is a bug.
