    Linkid the last stable one is the 3.121 and the beta is 4.0

    Becausu 3.0xx is less strict. In the times that I played fof I liked that level of restriction.
    Actually I am trying to run that particular version in arch linux. And the official arch repository has version 3.121

    @matrixbot
    Linkid Less strict on what ? Maybe we can put that again in the new version if you think it is better

    @matrixbot
    Linkid there is no tag in our repo too :/
    Linkid if you want to make a checksum, you have a tag in our repo : https://github.com/fofix/fofix/tree/Release_3.030
    Linkid but this is not supported anymore

    @GBurgardt
    Less strcit when pressing the notes
    I already know that this can be configured in fofix 3.1xx, but when you set it up it takes away points (I'm not saying that this is wrong, in fact I think it's fine)
    thanks for repo! Later I will try to make a checksum

    Hey, I've been trying to play some FoFix, but have run into the following gamebreaking bug: as soon as I start to try to play a song, the game pauses. It repeats pausing itself after 2 or so seconds after unpausing. Any idea why this might be happening?
    matrixbot
    @matrixbot
    Linkid Ok. But keep in mind that this release have some bugs ;)
    Linkid Hi ajs124 (Gitter) ! Which controller are you playing with ?
    ajs124
    @ajs124
    Linkid: I've been trying a keyboard and a x-plorer. The weirdest thing is that this happened on master and maintenance-3.x, so I suspect it's a problem with some library or my setup.

    @ajs124
    I'm still experiencing this issue and have no idea how to go about debugging it.

    Linkid ajs124 (Gitter): what is your operating system ? Which version of FoFiX are you using ?

    ajs124 this might not be of much help but I experienced the same issue a short while ago. Having the keyboard unplugged (remote desktop), leaving only the controller helped for me.

    Hi, FoFiX devs. I'm working with a company that's considering providing redistributable, fully-open-source-licenced runtime environments for applications that have complicated dependencies (e.g., takes time to get everything configured on Windows, or maybe Python2 compat issues, etc).

    They're considering doing this for FoFiX, and possibly expanding to more PyGame-using apps later. They'd like to "come in the front door", so to speak, and make this proposal in the right forum. Is here the right place for them to do that? Or maybe the #fofix IRC channel at OFTC? Or is there a mailing list or similiar forum where they should post?

    One of the goals of this initiative is to make life easier for developers (casual and otherwise) as well as users, which in turn reduces the barriers to entry for new devs.

    @Linkid Er, I'll nick-flag you, re the above, but let me know if it should be someone else.

    @matrixbot
    Linkid hi Karl Fogel (Gitter) ! Thanks for your offer.
    Linkid We do not have a mailing yet, so you can talk in IRC or Gitter
    Linkid I'm in both ;)
    Linkid about runtime environments, what would it be exacty ? Which kind of support your company can provide to us ?
    Linkid Right now, we're using Travis and Appveyor for CI + CD
    matrixbot
    @matrixbot
    Linkid but I didn't finish to setup up all that :x. I would like to finish it this month, though
    Linkid btw, what is this company ?
    Linkid (I'm available in IRC if you want to chat more ;))

    Hey, @Linkid. I'm over in IRC, but am here too (watching both).

    Hi, I've been trying to open the game from source code, but the compiler shows "Process finished with exit code 1". I'm using the code from GitHub and Python 2.7 compiler. What would you recommend me to do?
    matrixbot
    @matrixbot
    Linkid Rexrder (Gitter): hi
    Linkid Rexrder (Gitter): did you build C / C++ extension before executing FoFiX.py ?
    Linkid *extensions
    Linkid which OS are you using, btw ?
    Rexrder
    @Rexrder
    Yes, I did. I'm using Windows 10 64-bits
    matrixbot
    @matrixbot
    Linkid Rexrder (Gitter): can you give us the content of fofix.log, please ? (you can put it in a paste bin service ;))
    Rexrder
    @Rexrder
    I don't find fofix.log. Where it's supossed to be? Anyway, I tried to redo the steps one by one and now I'm getting this stuff: Traceback
    matrixbot
    @matrixbot
    Linkid Rexrder (Gitter): arg, I made a mistake in the last merge :x
    Linkid I'm fixing it right now.
    Linkid The log file is in %APPDIR%/fofix/
    matrixbot
    @matrixbot
    Linkid ok, your second error should be fixed
    Rexrder
    @Rexrder
    Now I'm getting another one: Traceback
    matrixbot
    @matrixbot
    Linkid you need to compile extensions
    Linkid (it seems it doesn't find the VideoPlayer one)
    Rexrder
    @Rexrder
    Ok, ok. That's just building the C/C++ parts?
    matrixbot
    @matrixbot
    Linkid yep, with the build_ext command ;)
    Rexrder
    @Rexrder
    Is this OK? It seems kinda strange.
    That appears while building
    matrixbot
    @matrixbot
    Linkid They are only warnings, they should not bother you
    Linkid (btw, it is temporary : after the release of fretwork, extensions will be migrated to fretwork)
    Rexrder
    @Rexrder
    Ok :). I'm still getting that problem with the VideoPlayer extension, even when I build several times. Do you know what could I have (or have not) done to achieve this error?
