@niranjan94 The change of the orga server to an API server seems to be progressing well. What is the plan for the set up? Will you be deploying the nextgen branch separately?

@mariobehling

We already have a secondary nextgen-cluster running with the latest and updated kubernetes configuration. (But running with low resources to be cost-effective)

We have the deployment of the nextgen branch at
https://api.eventyay.com - Using a test database
https://open-event-api.herokuapp.com/

And the frontend is now deployed at
https://nextgen.eventyay.com
https://open-event-frontend.herokuapp.com/

When we are ready to make the switch, everything including the deployments will remain as is except for the following changes

Then after basic checks, we can turn off the old cluster and bump up the resources of the new cluster.

So, there should not be much downtime either if done correctly.

@niranjan94 Ahh ok. I wasn't aware it gets deployed automatically already. The info should be added to Readme soon as well.

Will do @mariobehling ... We have been having auto deployments from the start of the nextgen project.

@niranjan94 Yes, but the nextgen frontend still uses the data from eventyay.com or not?

@niranjan94 Let's put up a better domain for the sample events: fossasia/open-event-webapp#1354 Please redirect sched.eventyay.com to GitHub.

@mariobehling yes. For now the nextgen frontend is using eventyay.com data for the home page. But probably by the end of the week, it'll switch to api.eventyay.com

http://sched.eventyay.com is live now
