I installed the open-event-api and the open-event-frontend locally, how do I get the admin password?

to sign in as admin in the open-event-frontend
to manage all the events
to get to the admin section

You can instead create a new account normally and then create events.

I am trying to fix this bug fossasia/open-event-frontend#698
How would I get to the admin section?

Although this is a bug from the API side, and will need API endpoints before completing the admin section.
You can ask for the admin password in the gitter channel for front end
Hope this helps.

How would my .env file have to like if I use pepe as the username and start as the password?

For the API?
Pepe Becker
@pepebecker
Nov 22 2017 05:24
yes
and oevent as the database
This is the example from github
DATABASE_URL=postgresql://open_event_user:test@127.0.0.1:5432/test
INTEGRATE_SOCKETIO=false
SERVER_NAME=localhost:5000 #(If you do not wish to set SERVER_NAME, do not add this line)
TEST_DATABASE_URL=postgresql://open_event_user:test@127.0.0.1:5432/opev_test
APP_CONFIG=config.DevelopmentConfig

DATABASE_URL=postgresql://pepe:start@127.0.0.1:5432/oevent
Remember to make pepe a superuser of the database.
Pepe Becker
@pepebecker
Nov 22 2017 05:29
Oh, is this everything I need in this file?
I would make pepe a superuser like this right?
CREATE USER pepe WITH PASSWORD 'start';
CREATE DATABASE oevent WITH OWNER pepe;
Rahul Tiwari
@invinciblycool

Exactly...
Pepe Becker
@pepebecker
Nov 22 2017 05:31
ok
Rahul Tiwari
@invinciblycool
Nov 22 2017 05:32
Leave everything as it is in the example, because that is associated while running tests.
Pepe Becker
@pepebecker
Nov 22 2017 05:36
so it has nothing to with starting the server?
Rahul Tiwari
@invinciblycool
Nov 22 2017 05:37
Yes.
While running tests you can simply export the database url.
to the testing database.
Pepe Becker
@pepebecker
Nov 22 2017 05:38
ah, ok
so can I still use pepe and start for the oevent database?
Rahul Tiwari
@invinciblycool
Nov 22 2017 05:39
Yes, if you have this user as the owner.
