Hi everyone, in particular @BLasan @anishagg17 @snitin315
your last commits since Apr 5 have broken something. The susi.ai client on the raspi now fails to load with an error message
May 10 12:21:45 susi python3[979]: 192.168.1.108 - - [10/May/2020 12:21:45] "GET /bundled.js HTTP/1.1" 404 -
May 10 12:22:00 susi python3[979]: 192.168.1.108 - - [10/May/2020 12:22:00] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 -
May 10 12:22:00 susi python3[979]: 192.168.1.108 - - [10/May/2020 12:22:00] "GET /bundled.js HTTP/1.1" 404 -
So some bundled.js is missing.
Please look into this urgently, something is fishy in the stuff that is deployed into the local-pages branch.
Akshat Garg
@akshatnitd
@norbusan I checked the code. There hasn't been any change which can cause this. Also, the deployed site https://susi.ai uses the same build folder (except that it is present in gh-pages branch).
Did something change on the Raspi side?
Mario Behling
@mariobehling
@akshatnitd I dont know which PR broke things, but on my machine the main area does not get displayed. It loads shortly and then diasppears. This happens on Chrome, Chromium, Firefox.
Console shows Failed to load api.susi.ai/cms/getSkillMetadata.json?userid=undefined&group=undefined&language=undefined&skill=undefined:1 resource: the server responded with a status of 500 ()
Mario Behling
@mariobehling
@akshatnitd Even if the server does not display this resource, the frontend should still work.
@norbusan Is this related to the recent changes of @Orbiter on the server?

Ok, I realized this only happens for resolutions of screens wider than 2560px width

I believe there is no group undefined

Akshat Garg
@akshatnitd
@mariobehling Yes, even if server throws 500, we should handle the error and show appropriate error message. Also, what @norbusan pointed out, is a different issue than this. It is most probably depending on how the server runs locally on the Raspi.

@akshatnitd It seems like the local pages setup does not work anymore on the device after some changes recently. Any way you could help?

Dear @/all, we are running the next version of our SUSI.AI installation workshop. This workshop is a run through to test our installation process for SUSI.AI on smart speakers. Compared to the last time we have improved a number of steps. The goal of this workshop is to make installations of SUSI.AI on smart speakers easier and enable more contributors to run workshops independently in future. @mariobehling Is there any newcomer issue in this project? or will this project be a good option for a newcomer?

hi,I have just started the college. I am new to open source and want to participate in codeheat by contributing to this project. How can i get a mentor? i know web dev
Mario Behling
@mariobehling
We dont assign mentors to people. Mentors work by supporting project going forward and reviewing pull requests.

We are setting up the susi ai smart speaker for a group project at university. We followed the tutorial, where you can configure the headless speaker via the web client, after setting the wlan login the smart speaker reboots, but we get the raspberry pi login again....what login are we supposed to use? or did the setup fail?
Mario Behling
@mariobehling
@Sophie244 Nice. Which tutorial did you follow? Have a link? Maybe we could schedule a meeting with some students to go through the issues? What is the timeline for the project in your university?
Sophie244
@Sophie244
But not only, we tried several tutorials, we took the latest susibian release. When trying to add our wifi info amd press reboot, it does so but then the login shows up again.Our project is done tomorrow. We actually tried every possible way to set up a local version using just our skills for months, but we could not make it... We would be relieved with just getting at least the login credentials for susi when it boots... it's not the default raspi login or root...

Dear @/all today we received the very sad news that our dear friend @iamareebjamal has passed away. We are very disturbed by Areebs sudden death. In the last few years Areeb became like the beating heart of FOSSASIA. He kept everything running and developed all kinds of amazing services and tools. We would not be where we are today without him. He was an amazing person and brilliant developer. I worked and communicated with Areeb nearly every day and I also had the chance to meet him in person in India. The last time we got together in Delhi when we organized the OpenTechSummit mini event in Delhi. He loved to share his knowledge with anyone and expected even nothing in return. He was a modest and humble person. He deserved to live a long life and make his dreams come true. Areeb had big plans and we had discussed to get him to Singapore to run the FOSSASIA development from there. An amazing future was in front of him. We will be sharing more about Areeb on our channels. Please post your thoughts and condolences on the web and provide support to each other in these difficulties times. Be safe and healthy!
