    So, in Worms the lil guys were a bit slow and clumsy, so there was an interesting trade-off between trying to move them to a better location or spending your turn lining up your shot
    so i was thinking of copying their style of slow movement + slightly wonky jumping
    I’m copying the Desert Golfing style of aiming for now because on mobile it ensures that you can always see the shot you’re lining up (otherwise your thumb can be onscuring it)

    That's a good idea. Can you remember the exact mechanic for how they allowed moving and then shooting?
    I seem to remember you could walk for a bit and then shoot anyway
    Although maybe it would be a good idea to have just a shoot OR move turn

    yeah you usually had about 30 seconds, and you could shoot at any time - jumping was faster but more dangerous because they could get hurt

    And the ground was lumpy so they jumped in erratic directions

    Surely the eternal issue with game development is that you get sucked in to playing and not writing.

    for the html5 micromachines we started with box2D http://box2d-js.sourceforge.net/
    but pulled it out as it was deemed too realistic

    They seem to be roughly equal in beta-ness
    There won’t be too much going on at any one time so ease of coding is the most important thing,

    Hi, I made some changes to WantToCanvas on a fork which has now been merged. Now reading this conversation i realise i might of gone in a different direction. @liamwooding have a look and tell me if you would rather if I revert the changes and do something else. Sorry for not consulting the group sooner.

    Hey no worries, I’ve spun off into 2D physics land and things have all got a bit complex - if you make a pull request when you’re happy to then I’ll take a look and see how I can merge it in

    I found a bit of a bug but it's actually an incredible bug.
    If you jump and quickly shoot a ball, you stop falling and can levitate. It's beautiful.
    I really like the simple game mechanic of move then shoot, it's marvellous.

    Made a bunch of changes - players have physical bodies so aerial dogfights are now a viable strategy, and shots that aren’t direct hits bounce once before exploding. Still not sure whether to make a pull request because things have got pretty complex!
