Hi guys, i've got couple of questions... trying to setup Karmen instance on RPI04 for local network (no internet access), i've fellowed "Installing Karmen on-premise" guide, installed Docker, Karmen, setup ENV variables (KARMEN_CLOUD_MODE=0, KARMEN_SECRET_KEY=) everything seems to work, but i want to add Octoprint based devices which i dont know how, there is just guide how to add them via web-proxy, but its not what i want is this scenario even possible? (all devices(octopi) on same network, without internet, when i choose add printer-> set it some name-> insert correct ip address including "http://...*/", API key from octoprint, then ai get "Cannot add printer.... check server logs" so what i'm doing wrong and where i can find server logs? thanks for help díky, díky moc :)
Hi! Your scenario should be readily supported when running with cloud mode disabled. In that case, you will be entering your octoprint address instead of printer token in cloud mode. So you're on the right track!
In order to debug this, we will need you to get the error message from the backend server. Something like:
docker-compose logs backend_flask
should spit it out.
thanks for fast response, with log file i was able to solve it.. it was missing SECRET_KEY in env. variable. which is quite strange for me..
i've set it by command "export KARMEN_SECRET_KEY=SuperSecureKey"
when i read it by "printenv | grep KARMEN" i get:
but when i run Karmen just by ./run-karmen.sh the secret key is not set, i have tu run it this way:
Good, you've made it work, that's great to hear! Enjoy your Karmen installation!
The behavior you describe is expected, it's actually mentioned in the docs you should run it that like that. Anyway, I would definitely recommend setting something more random for the secret key (at least 20 chars long with numbers and special symbols). You know, security is important even when running in an isolated network :)
Is in Karmen any way to verticaly flip video from "octopi" printer? and how to cooldown printer? I'm unable to set 0°C in printer control... any ideas? thanks ;)
@lipoforall Karmen should honor settings from the OctoPrint. You can set the flipping there.
Regarding the cooldown: please enter something low but not
0.1. And I'm writing this down to our bug tracker as a bug. You're right
0 should be allowed too.
