Hi folks, I'm curious is there's a standardized way to descibe the units of measure in a column with the table schema, or if that just needs to go in the description

For instance, a machine-readable way to say "this numbers in this column are millimeters" or degrees Celsius, etc

@rufuspollock that's perfect, thanks. I'm a little confused as to what this means though - there is nothing in the spec about this I can see. Is it something one can just include in their table schema or is there a variant that needs to be referenced?
Or is this just something that will be in the next release

It's a pattern - there is nothing formal in the schema ...
If it were to prove popular it might make it into a future version but it acts as a pattern atm

I see. So it's something one is free to use but most tooling will just ignore it

The current application I'm building is focused on scientific and research data, so this is obviously useful for almost every dataset
