Table Schema is not too distant but still not quite the same. What is your opinion on the relation between the Data package spec and these structured datasets initiatives?

My question still stands.

Strictly schema.org/Dataset comes from dcat an early simple spec for datasets that i was involved in.

Re CSVW: not sure they are using that much in this search implementation. CSVW was originally forked from Table Schema and i was an editor on the spec but i feel it got overcomplex and tough to implement.
