Table Schema is not too distant but still not quite the same. What is your opinion on the relation between the Data package spec and these structured datasets initiatives?
My question still stands.
They prefer to use https://schema.org/Dataset or W3C's CSVW instead of Table Schema.
Strictly schema.org/Dataset comes from dcat an early simple spec for datasets that i was involved in.
Re CSVW: not sure they are using that much in this search implementation. CSVW was originally forked from Table Schema and i was an editor on the spec but i feel it got overcomplex and tough to implement. @/all Google released a dataset search and the comments on HN are resonating with a lot of what people are thinking about in this group: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=17919297.
I've posted on that thread now https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=17919297 (currently at bottom until upvoted!)
