    ok, fair enough.

    @hexylena
    well. the budget is based on a distance calculator provided by erasmus+
    so fly cheap I guess and we'll have leftovers.
    I freaking miss line item budgets

    Ok.. I'm only asking as I want to know my "contractual obligations" as a host - the traditional obligations will, of course, remain nontheless ;)
    Yeah, I hear ya..

    @hexylena

    @yvanlebras @abretaud hey y'all. So @shiltemann and I rewrote the IOs to match the new structure. Please check that the skills & competencies (first half of IO) are OK for you. Then please check that the listed submodules are OK. If you want to add more submodules, go for it.

    @yvanlebras the ones I wrote for you are not so good. please check them (compare with IO1 or IO2) and maybe expand the contents a bit? If you can think of other decomposable submodules (maybe the modelling part is a standalone thing), then give it another submodule.

    @abretaud
    ok, I'll have a look shortly!
    Helena
    @hexylena
    thanks <3!
    Helena
    @hexylena

    @abretaud I'm designating you as our proefkonijn (guinea pig, but in dutch it's a "test rabbit", thought you'd appreciate that) for video conferencing software

    as a risk management strategy we'll test jitsi (https://jitsi.org/) as an alternative to zoom that doesn't require a license to host the training, and we'll do it in only one of the IOs.

    Anthony Bretaudeau
    @abretaud
    :+1: do I have to wear my rabbit costume for that?
    Helena
    @hexylena
    oh gosh you have one?
    obviously optional.
    Anthony Bretaudeau
    @abretaud
    I don't, but I can make one for this project, this is a strong argument to get funding
    it's an output (I don't know if it's "intellectual" but)
    Helena
    @hexylena
    hahahah

    Ok, will see to rewrite, add things ! Thank you !!!
    good idea to stop using Zoom (a lot of GDPR issues related to Zoom)
    and jitsi is good! I made some call with almost 20 people and tis was very good, art least by audio and if only max 3 mic are open
    Helena
    @hexylena
    cool.
    should not be so bad with 1 mic only.
    Yvan Le Bras
    @yvanlebras
    if you want to test, I saved several jitsi servers in case of ;)
    Helena
    @hexylena
    might also host our own
    but thanks for the list! super cool
    Yvan Le Bras
    @yvanlebras
    of course ;)
    Anthony Bretaudeau
    @abretaud
    I've looked at my IO: LGTM!
    Helena
    @hexylena
    ok, bril
    thanaks for checking
    Saskia Hiltemann
    @shiltemann
    Thanks all! Just FYI, our RDO office will do a final review for us next week Tues/Wed, so any additions you can make before then would be much appreciated (and feedback/suggestions from your side on any of the other sections would be great as well, if you have the time)
    Yvan Le Bras
    @yvanlebras
    Considering remote training and video, there is bigbluebutton https://demo.bigbluebutton.org/gl/
    Helena
    @hexylena
    just as a zoom/jitsi/etc alternative?
    Yvan Le Bras
    @yvanlebras
    yes, but already learning ortiented
    Helena
    @hexylena
    neat! what makes it learning oriented?

    ah from their github

    We designed BigBlueButton for online learning (though it can be used for many other applications). The educational use cases for BigBlueButton are

    • Online tutoring (one-to-one)
    • Flipped classrooms (recording content ahead of your session)
    • Group collaboration (many-to-many)
    • Online classes (one-to-many)
    Yvan Le Bras
    @yvanlebras
    yes
    Helena
    @hexylena
    huh, sounds like a normal videoconf platform, but, cool that they had edu in mind!
    Saskia Hiltemann
    @shiltemann
    nice find @yvanlebras
    Helena
    @hexylena

    Oh here it is

    Online learning - BigBlueButton extends these core features to enable a teacher to engage students for learning. For example, a tutor can use BigBlueButton’s multi-user whiteboard to help a student with solving a difficult math problem. BigBlueButton has built-in integrations with all the major learning management systems (LMS), including Canvas, Jenzabar, Moodle, Sakai, and Schoology. It also supports Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) 1.0 for integration with other LMS systems (such as Blackboard and D2L).

    we'll add to list of evaluation options. maybe you want to be brave enough to try it for your IO
    Yvan Le Bras
    @yvanlebras
    yes, I think I will try it for upcoming virtual seminar / demo / training
    Helena
