    And welcome Nadia!
    Is there a LinkedIn post I can share for smorgasbord ? I think this can be a good channel to try involve french (but not only) colleagues
    Saskia Hiltemann
    @shiltemann
    There is not, but feel free to make one?

    All I expected Bioinformatics carpentry utilizing Galaxy to be a Gallantries event. But it does not appear to be.
    Is that correct?
    Hmmm. the event page that it links to does not mention carpentries at all.
    For now, I’m going to use the event title from the second page in the calendar. Please let me know if another choice would be better (if you have an opinion!)

    uhhh @bgruening what the heck?
    do you know these people? maybe can convince them to work with us?
    and our huge infra for training materials O_o
    Björn Grüning
    @bgruening
    Yes, I know them. Haven't talked to them a year or so, but I know them.
    And they should now GTN and everything what we do :(
    Helena
    @hexylena
    booo
    Dave Clements
    @tnabtaf
    Well, they might using GTN
    Helena
    @hexylena
    no
    Dave Clements
    @tnabtaf
    But they may not be aware of Gallantries?
    it's kind of surreal haha
    they link to so many resources of ours, but don't want to contribute? we maybe need to reach out to them and invite them to?
    Dave Clements
    @tnabtaf
    None of that is current.
    YES
    Helena
    @hexylena
    maybe a job for a native german speaker, I'm guessing they'd be more receptive.
    Dave Clements
    @tnabtaf
    Ja!
    Björn Grüning
    @bgruening
    Andrea was our main contact and he left a year ago :(
    Helena
    @hexylena
    no, very few people are knowing gallantries, the focus on HE/ECTS is not helping us there
    Björn Grüning
    @bgruening
    Jaja, I got the message ;)
    Helena
    @hexylena
    ;) danke björnchen

    https://wilkelab.org/SDS375/schedule.html some nice R/stats materials we can use for gallantries. (cc-by-4 / mit licensed.) could be nice to integrate as trainings into the GTN in IO1.

    Thanks @hexylena ! These look very useful!

    @hexylena
    @yvanlebras, @bgruening tells me you were working on a generic RShiny IE?
    where we can just provide the app as an input to the IT?
    would love to see this for gallantries :)
    Helena
    @hexylena
    maybe I can find time to get https://github.com/hexylena/docker-galaxy-volume/ working with all of the ITs, to give a read-only filesystem for accessing data. Could be cool.
    we need that in jupyter, rstudio, would make life so much beter.
    Björn Grüning
    @bgruening
    :100:
    Helena I will also update the jupyter notebook soon
    if you have a whishlist for missing packages
    Helena
    @hexylena
    none as of now
    Yvan Le Bras
    @yvanlebras
    Hello amazing you all!!!!
    ;)
    Not sure what is behind generic R Shiny IE (or maybe I forget something I said ;) )
    But yes we are working on providing new R Shiny apps as GxIT and there is at least in fact 2 related ideas, one is to propose a "generic" manner to create GxIT from R Shiny apps, another is to use something like shinyproxy to deploy Shiny apps.... This second idea will make the manner to deploy shiny apps on Galaxy a little bit like for deplying jupyter notebooks... So shinyproxy can be used a little bit like Jupyter lab
    Helena
    @hexylena
    I like the generic idea!
    Have never heard of shinyprozy before
    Cool :)
    We made some tests last year, quite easy to deploy and use
    Helena
    @hexylena
    Oh it's kubernetes stuff.
    Ok even more in support of generic GxIT option now :)
