the GTN is probably one of the most extensive examples of it, everyone else uses a far smaller subset
    </bragging>
but I've...given up on attending TeSS club, because the last conversation I had was "we're not focused on materials, we're more focused on events currently" (which, fine, their choice.)
at some point they're get their scrapers sorted out
    and start ingesting again
I tried to use their new scraper but it involved downloading a copy of chromium and would not actually "scrape", because it was a combined "scraper + submitter", so you needed to have a live, working TeSS implementation to test if the scraper works against your site.

that sounds horrid. I was hoping that is was less painful than this.

If you're trying to get ingested then the answer is: write bioschemas and a sitemap
And someday they'll start ingesting again

Michelle Savage: I am really looking forward to your SEO fixes. I saw an SEO failure the other day that we definitely need to get resolved galaxy admin training job conf yaml doesn't even find the training website at all, only the proxies to it. I added a canonical header to our pages, and hopefully that'll help, but, yeah, we need your advice :) The very last result on the first page is the only correct result for a 'training' query.

Removing yaml for galaxy admin training job conf produces likewise not great results. (The docs are high which is good, but, not the "training" which is part of that query), and only with our old domain name (galaxyproject.github.io) instead of the one we've been using for...2 years now

Hi Helena 👋 For some reason just now seeing your note. YES! There is sooooo much to talk about on this topic. Would love to speak with you more about this -- will you be coming to GCC? I am thinking of doing a CoFest project around this --would you be interested in partnering up? If so, let me know what day you prefer to have it on. Particularly with the release of Google Analytics 4 looming on the horizon and the required "sunsetting" of GA's Universal Analytics on July 1st, 2023 - getting solutions in place beforehand seems pertinent.
What I was able to uncover in the meantime was that we could implement a EDAM tagging structure for tracking purposes using Plausible (of all things). Here is our poster's "Targeting by Algorithm" slide - it's loosely related to the issue you've identified and it might make sense to solve for both issues at once: https://static.sched.com/hosted_files/gcc2022/13/NEWCOMER%20TO%20CONTRIBUTOR%20Awan%20Collins%20Savage.pdf

Hi Michelle Savage cool, always figured that plausible could do custom events but never bothered to look into it. (And we're quite against google analytics for obvious reasons, so, great that pulsar supports it!) It's a nice poster! Interesting idea to use EDAM
we've got some existing tutorials tagged as EDAM, happy to expose those however they're useful
GOATS: If you tweet photos (cover images, event photos, etc), twitter finally is releasing a reminder to help you remember to add good alt text. Please consider turning it on :) (once it becomes available to you) https://twitter.com/TwitterA11y/status/1547264351236669442

Hi Helena thanks for the encouragement as we are nervous-excited for our first GCC 😰 😄 Yes! I would love to know how you are tagging tutorials using EDAM. Also, I am curious as to how the search is appearing on your end --maybe you can include a screenshot, just so I understand the issue? Just in case you're interested/available, I started a CoFest topic for "SEO + EDAM for Documentation" at this bookmark here.

Hey y'all I see a GOATS meeting on the schedule, just going to go ahead and consider that cancelled since most folks are at GCC :)

When is the next GOATS meeting? I was hoping to bring up something related to release process we've been working on. I think it would be super for the GOATS group to 'own' and be responsible for the portion of the release process related to release notes (creation, distribution), similar to how the testing group owns the testing part currently.

Hello everyone, we have a meeting planned today, but I might be a little late. If it overlaps with another meeting, we could reschedule sometimes this week at the same time, would people be available tomorrow

'own' and be responsible for the portion of the release process related to release notes (creation, distribution),

don't we ... already do that already, via me? and bea distributing by copying and pasting to the hub?
