Nate Coraor: 👋 Do you happen to have any usage statistics on the Tool Search on usegalaxy.org? (ex. Timestamp for API calls on api/tools?q= by Session ID, subsequent Timestamp for Clicks to tool_runner?tool_id= by Session ID) Some suggestions to quantify our progress came up during today's Community Call from MikeS, JohnD, and Kaivon. If not, no huge deal but thought I'd ask before the "focus group" route was considered. Thanks in advance. Cc: Ahmed Awan tcollins2011 dannon

Not sure, is this something that can be pulled out of Google Analytics? I can maybe grep things out of log messages, but we aren't keeping an extensive amount of logs at this point, so that might not be very useful.

I don't think we need (or it's useful) to pull a ton -- the idea was just to grab a few common representative searches to compare before/after the backend changes.

I don't think we need anything extensive (but maybe I'm wrong here). We would probably only need: (1) a couple months worth of data before the latest release began and (2) a couple months worth of data after the release began. Essentially a "before" and "after" that tells us the time between when a user performed a search (the api/tools?q= call) and when a user clicked on a tool (the tool_runner?tool_id= click) is my thinking anyhow.

So using the nginx access log we can get timing, and correlate requests by IP and user-agent. Not perfect but I am not aware of what other options we would have.

I have seen that before, it's not new w/ the multiview. This is what I mentioned about our virtual scroll list component being problematic.
Though I thought I had squelched it by forcing a particular version of vue, let me take a look.
(i.e. -- I think it had to do with multiple versions of vue being used concurrently, one by us and a different vue by the dependency)

If it seems persistent, maybe just check a build right before and after the multi-history? I definitely saw this pop up with the vue 2.7 shift though.

I swear I saw it on the calendar last night; it's 7 ET. I think someone deleted the event when they likely meant to just decline it?

    This has happened before.

yes, looks like the whole recurring event is gone
    dannon
    @dannon:matrix.org
    [m]
No, someone deleted the whole series...
Last time this happened, the person who deleted it was able to undelete and it was recovered. If someone recalls possibly deleting it, that'd be helpful for you to try.
If not, I can recreate a new one, but it's definitely easiest to just undelete.

Argh ^ . Yeah, the only event I see in the 'global' available trash is the backend working group meeting (which makes sense to have changed recently).

I'll give folks a chance to catch up to the chat here and maybe remember they tweaked this one to see if we can undelete it. This way we don't have to re-invite everyone. Otherwise, I'll send a new event for next week. We can also probably swap the GalaxyWG calendar so that only WG leads can change events to avoid this happening, since it has recurred.

Today's meeting is at 7 PM Eastern / 1 AM CEST (please don't come!) / 9 AM AEST. Main topic will be the login flow and how we can improve it with multiple authentication methods.

Does anyone know if there are plans to add more information for API failed workflow imports into the GUI? Maybe trap and report format validation problems? Hints would be a bonus. This users was able to map a format issue to an API error. I asked if they could provide examples + pointed to the docs for command-line tests. Not sure if this is on a GUI roadmap or if there is more help in other places. https://help.galaxyproject.org/t/non-specific-error-on-malformed-gxformat2-import/8692

No worries, not spam! It's good for folks to be aware. But, yes, I've been following the progress of both this and the primary repo waiting to see what shakes out as the likely best path before we do anything to move forward on it.
