Is there a way to add a gap between g-grid sizes
So for instance I have g-grid then 4 blocks that are set as size-25. These position correctly but there are all but up and I wantoto add a gap between each. I know I can add padding and margin to each to create a kind of gap but this will also add to end so the 4 block will come within the full size-100 which looks out of place again other content that is size-100.
I know for instance you can write inline-grid and then use grid-gap. Is there an equivalent for thegantry grid?
Adrian Ionescu
@adriankickstart
I think you need to add custom css. For example you can increase the padding on .g-content. But, as you said, this will make the row to look out of alignment, to fix this you can add negative margins to .g-grid.
.g-content { padding: 0 40px; }
.g-grid { margin-left: -40px; margin-right: -40px; }

@Wicko-Design
this is not good option when you go to mobile as will create content that is off the page and create a side scroll
Alexis Priddy
@yellowwebmonkey
@Wicko-Design , do you have a url we can look at? You might want to play with flexbox's justify-content: space-between. https://css-tricks.com/almanac/properties/j/justify-content/
David Wickstead
@Wicko-Design
The site is in development https://wickodev.co.uk/ It is behind password: oni
@yellowwebmonkey I think you are right that I should just use the basic html 5 classes instead of using the gantry classes. As I mentioned earlirt I can get effect with inline-grid and grid-gap inseatd.
Its the space between option not the space around

Hi, can anyone confirm whether this syntax is ok? <code> <!--[if (gte IE 8)&(lte IE 9)]>

<script type="text/javascript" src="/media/gantry5/assets/js/html5shiv-printshiv.min.js?5db31536"></script>

<link rel="stylesheet" href="/media/gantry5/engines/nucleus/css/nucleus-ie9.css?5db31536" type="text/css"/>

<script type="text/javascript" src="/media/gantry5/assets/js/matchmedia.polyfill.js?5db31536"></script>

<![endif]--> </code>

After emailing Tassos (he provides ConvertForms for Joomla) this seems to be causing an error on my contact page (Chrome Web Dev does not like the trailing >) and Tassos has asked me to change the first line to read <code><!--[if (gte IE 8)&(lte IE 9)] --></code> instead.
This code is brought in by gantry5 somewhere and I cannot track it down!

Oh darn it would not contain the important line!

@yellowwebmonkey
@Wicko-Design , can you tell me which block you are wanting to change?

@Diabeet2506_twitter
question by a newby: downloaded Hyrdogen and Helium theme. But when i want to upload to joomla there is not a XML files or not a instalpackage???
David Wickstead
@Wicko-Design
@yellowwebmonkey I need to look at all pages the way I have created the 2 column options where the text touches the imagers because too close.
I think I have done it on the home page with the 2 panels 'Extracellular Vesicles' and 'Pathogens'. I think I will just have to go through each page and change the classes to these unless you can see a bertter option.
@Diabeet2506_twitter Have you download the correct version? Do you already have Gantry 5 installed? If you have Joomla already then upload both Gantry 5 and the Gantry 5 theme you want to use. If you are starting fresh with new site then use just the RocketLauncher to add Joomla and theme as one.
Alexis Priddy
@yellowwebmonkey
@Wicko-Design, I see where you added a class on the homepage and it looks like that is working for you. On some of the list ones like on nanoimager, you might want to try something like .oni-list-item {padding:1rem;} and .oni-list { justify-content: space-between; }
David Wickstead
@Wicko-Design
@yellowwebmonkey I was actually working on the Nanoimager page to a a tab option. If you look on something like https://wickodev.co.uk/immunofluorescence you will see that the left text block is too close to the image on the right. This happens for both left and right columns
What I might try and do is just add paddint to left columns but if ever I use more than 2 columns is a bit of a problem.
Adrian Ionescu
@adriankickstart
That's the issue with so many frameworks... I think you have custom particles for this website, why now just use css grid?
display: grid;
grid-template-columns: repeat(3, 1fr);
gap: 24px;
David Wickstead
@Wicko-Design
@adriankickstart yes I think that is what I might have to do but for now I have made it look ok with
.size-50 .main_text, .size-50 .title {
    padding-right:24px;
}
say it is a bit of a mix of code as converting from oni.bio
yes is a bit of a mix of code
Adrian Ionescu
@adriankickstart
Capture.PNG
@media (min-width: 768px) {
    .size-50 { padding: 0 30px; }
    .g-grid { margin: 0 -30px; }
}
I used paddings and negative margins all the time, and never had issues with this. It works fine with gantry grid, and it have the advantage that you can control the space / gap between columns.
David Wickstead
@Wicko-Design
Thanks I will give it a go. Not even gone into mobile styling yet. Job for tomorrow. I am jsu hesitant pushing anything outside the margins as have had issues in the past on some devices

You need to make sure that you are downloading the correct package. You will get that error message if you are trying to install the incorrect package. Please try re-downloading the Joomla packages from here:

Hey everyone. I'm brand new to gantry after getting somewhat familiar with grav and realizing a GUI would be very helpful for me. My very beginner question is this: Where does gantry look for content for particles? The sidebar for instance: I can't figure out where in the admin panel to configure sidebar content. And/or does gantry populate the sidebar by looking at the (grav site) folder tree?
paulrudy
@paulrudy
following up, I believe I use the Grav Content particle. But I don't see any documentation on how to use it.
okay, found an answer but it was by no means obvious anywhere. requires taxonomy: category: in frontmatter

Hi, we are looking for a way to access article and category custom fields from a particles. We already use the documentation for the CMS shortcut like {{ article.text|raw }}
Adrian Ionescu
@adriankickstart
@SemaphoreOxalis if you are using WordPress, you can do something like {% function('function_name', 'function_argument', 'function_argument') %}
Nicoloas OLIVIER
@SemaphoreOxalis
@adriankickstart Sorry I don't give the information : We are on Joomla! ;-)

@Mazikis
hey, how do I make my header section display whole image not part of it. I am using custom HTML with h1 in it
Alexis Priddy
@yellowwebmonkey
@Mazikis, can you share the url? I think the best way is to figure out the aspect ratio of the image. Then you can set the height of the section like #g-header {height:calc(100vw * 0.67);}
Mazikis
@Mazikis
@yellowwebmonkey thanks your code helped me =)

Got an issue on a live gantry site that I cannot fix. I have a convertforms contact form here on a test server url version http://webdev.sites.k-hosting.co.uk/hac/contact-us
After contacting the author of the forms Tassos he recommends that I change the shim entry to include --> at the end of the first line. I cannot find where to edit this in gantry 5 though!
It is odd though because I have the same form on another gantry 5 site that works fine here https://webal.co.uk/about
Can a fresh eye help me figure out the problem on the dev link?
Alexis Priddy
@yellowwebmonkey
@dmleeman , what is the exact issue you are having on the test server? The form appears on both links for me, although I did not submit the form.
dmleeman
@dmleeman
@yellowwebmonkey yes, sorry, it is the submission on the test server that fails
@yellowwebmonkey thank you for taking a look, there is an error in the Chrome developer that pointed Tassos to the shiv entry
Alexis Priddy
@yellowwebmonkey
@dmleeman , try looking at /public_html/media/gantry5/engines/nucleus/templates/page_head.html.twig
dmleeman
@dmleeman
@yellowwebmonkey thank you, that's really helpful I have been looking for the head statement for a while!
@yellowwebmonkey I have only just met twigs whilst using gantry 5 and still figuring them out
dmleeman
@dmleeman
@yellowwebmonkey Thank you, I have made the change on the test server but still getting errors in Chrome Web Dev. The errors are related to the Convertforms but it looks as though the output html is leaving a stray '<' somewhere that is causing the problem. I have contacted the form author too
dmleeman
@dmleeman
@yellowwebmonkey FIXED! It was my fault...a change that I had made to a custom js particle on one page that I had not documented. However, the twig structure was helpful.
Matias Griese
@mahagr
@dmleeman you shouldn't change that line, otherwise those IE8-9 CSS rules will break layout from every other browser.. if you don't like those, just remove everything in between
you can also see in which file everything is by enabling development mode and debug
dmleeman
@dmleeman
@mahagr Hi Matias, yes, I hadn't looked at shiv for a while but remembered it was browser specific statement. Although I did test it on my dev server, the live server remained unchanged. Thanks for confirming that though

Hello does someone know how to assign gantry outlines to components?

My article looks like this - when opening it trough a visual builder that loads articles (notice the url ):
http://eyecatcher1.visibility.website/component/content/article/2-ongecategoriseerd/8-bespaar-op-energiefactuur?Itemid=362

While it should look like this:
http://eyecatcher1.visibility.website/blog/8-bespaar-op-energiefactuur

Matthias De Vriendt
@MDVizzy_twitter
There are plugins that make this possible but i've read that it doesn't work since gantry overrides the default joomla behaviour for template assignment.
