Is it possible to set a page to only open if linked to from a specific IP? I have set a hidden landing page which I only want to be available when linked to from another site.

@Wicko-Design that would probably be best to do from htaccess. You can either set page to forbidden or to redirect if doesn't match the referrer you want

for BS4 support, it needs couple of customized css files for BS4

including the slightly modified BS4 css

on the menu issues, i will be working on gantry 5.5 as soon as i can -- but i've been sick for over a month, so i'm a bit behind on everything unfortunately

I have tried installing gantry 5.4.34 and helium in an existing Joomla 3.9.21 site and get a warning saying "can't find XML setup file", and an error saying "Unable to detect manifest file". However, I have no difficulty setting up the Helium Rocket Launcher skeleton site. Ideas please.

@wilburg_twitter you only receive that error message if you’ve tried to install the incorrect package. Please go to the download section again and make sure that you have grabbed the extension specifically for Joomla.

@mahagr "gantry itself doesn't use bootstrap at all, anywhere" - yes, tbh I would actively avoid using BS if possible (ie it is not already present in a Joomla component).
Of course, as you pointed out, I don't see BS present in the source code of Hydrogen or Helium. But the Javascript Frameworks Atom does make provision for the inclusion of the Bootstrap framework and have noticed a few posts by developers new to the Gantry system that question whether BS may be 'supported' in some way. I've never used this Atom for BS either but I can see how it may raise questions.

Hi, just got the updatemessage from Joomla. Clicked to update however it fails , So I tried to intaL THE Gantry package from teh download site. Saying in dutch: Waarschuwing

@kvenekamp , that can be a generic error message. You might want to go FTP or file manager and manually delete the contents of your /cache/ and /administrator/cache/ folders (leave the index.html)

@yellowwebmonkey Thanks, This did not work, but I got the right direction. In the website tmp folder was a file that blocked the update. I had to shut down my system and restart. After restart I finally could remove the blockking file. And now update is OK.

Hello, I'm new to grav and gantry. I made a layout for my first page exactly as I wanted it. The problem is I want to add a blog list page where I can add articles but the posts show after all the particles I added for the first page. How can I make the blog page, contact and other pages to be simple, whitout the stuff from first page?

Hello, I´m wondering how to show a replacement image for the slideshow on mobile ? RIght now the slideshow just vanishes on mobile view. Where can I tweak this ?

It may simply be a case of your css rendering the slideshow 'invisible' at a certain breakpoint, so you can override this behaviour by finding the class responsible. But to answer your question fully see below:

There are more advanced methods depending on how far you wish to go. The 'easiest' method is through use of the built-in Gantry5 Utility Classes - http://docs.gantry.org/gantry5/tutorials/utility-classes

This method requires that your replacement image widget, particle or module is added to the same section in your layout - maybe just underneath is best. Then apply the visible-phone class to this replacement. As the breakpoint of the viewport hits mobile width, your slideshow will become 'invisible' as before, and the new replacement should then become visible.

There is a more advanced method that requires some conditional php; and this approach varies with each CMS. I'm familiar with Joomla and often use this more advanced method to prevent unwanted invisible code being called into the mobile view.

This way you can prevent the slideshow module from loading on mobile and instead load a module with the image you want. The directions on how to do this are located here:

As @dmleeman pointed out, Gantry 5 does have built-in utility classes but the only problem with those is that they allow the content to still be loaded but are instead hidden when loaded, whereas the approach with DSC which uses PHP, which is what @dmleeman was hinting at, prevents it from being loaded instead of just hidden.

Hey guys, I need some help with an error message. I'm trying to modify the a Particle in the Base Outline under "Particle Defaults" and when I do I get the following error message:

Forbidden
You do not have permission to access this document.

Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to solve it? I've checked the permissions and everything seems OK so I'm not sure what's going on.
This is on Joomla 3.9.21 with Gantry 5.4.35

@N8Solutions , can you share a screenshot of the error? Have you tried reverting to plain Jane Joomla htaccess? Tried incognito mode?

@N8Solutions Hi Michael - oddly, I've seen a similar error (specifically a 403) with my UK host; it only appears every few months due to a specific security that they run.
If I remember correctly, you host the site yourself - the solution was to whitelist in ModSecurity

trying to move WP site to AWS server. but without success. Can I clear all data in the WP-content/cache?
If the domain name has changed are there any additionla files where the domain is started other thatn the database.

Normally use Akeeba Backup to move sites but AWS can't handle is as the use cluster databases

I have also tried incognito mode as well as even simply deleting the .htaccess file and still no luck.

The problem occurs, so far anyways, only when I try to save any changes made to a Particle in Particle Defaults.

I can still go to any of the other outlines where a particle has been added and change the setting of the particle there without getting the error message. The problem is limited only to the Particle Defaults section.

I would give mod security a shot like they suggested. Might manually delete cache files as well

For Gantry5 on Grav, what does it mean to assign a Position to a Page or Page Type? It doesn't include a region, so I don't see how this feature can be useful...
