Hi there, I have an SEO realted question about off-canvas position. When I crawl the page with a Google Search simulator the content in the off-canvas position (a global menu) always comes before the actual text on the page with basically the meat of the content. It would be better if that meat came up first and would be trailed by the off-canvas content. Is this possible to achieve? i.e. easily?

@Dolcevia_twitter Hi, Yes, this could be down to the order of the html in most gantry5 sites. If you view the source code then the off-canvas id appears right under the opening body tag so I guess there is no easy way around it.

@pmoreno-rodriguez Hi, I think that the syntax is ok for the checkbox as I am copying some code from a similar example in a working Particle.

@FabricioS Hi, just a guess but are you running another page builder as well as using Gantry?

With regards to my attempt at adding the loading="lazy" attribute to the Joomla Article Particle (contentarray.twig.html and contentarray.yaml) I got as far as this:

And, in fact, the previous attempt did whitescreen (PHP error) the site, as does this attempt...I feel this attempt is closer though.
Can anyone help?

@dmleeman : correct guess. There is fact Gantry and SP Page Builder extensions installed on this joomla instance. I was however told that the update of the gantry extension solved the problem. But I can't tell you by now which are the Gantry versions involved in this discussion (I lose the access to the back-office during this update).

@FabricioS ok, that may complicate matters, I don't use SP Page Builder and would recommend overrides in its place. From memory I imagine it uses some complex layers of javascript for it's drag and drop functions. Or, I should say, logical in principle but perhaps more complex through iteration.
So, it is my instinct that SP Page Builder may impact on the structure of Gantry layouts through writing to DOM in frontend perhaps.

I am using PHP 8.1 and Gantry 5.5.15 and when I click save in the Layout tab I get the following error:
preg_match(): Passing null to parameter #2 ($subject) of type string is deprecated.
The save is not completed.
This is not happening in PHP 8.0.

@Impression_eS_twitter Depending on a few factors, PHP8.1.x and Gantry do still have some issues...I think they are related to the TWIG version...I do run Joomla 4.2.3 with PHP 8.1.11 without any issues on several sites so I know it can work but in some cases it may be necessary to drop back to PHP8.0.x

hello my gantry does not work with modern event calender and ivory search since php updated to 8.1

so i donwgraded my php file to 8.0 still not woking

even before it did work with php file 8.0

does anyone noe the reasons?

So, it may be worth contacting Rockettheme to check for PHP 8 compatibility and also be certain that you have installed Gantry 5.5.15

So, it is possible that the theme itself may not be fully compatible, or some other component or plugin within the site.

I just noticed that Gantry 5 doesn't appear in the available extension updates in Joomla administration and this happens not only with version 5.5.15 (that I had initially reported) but for other versions too, like 5.5.13. So I now realize that I haven't seen an update of Gantry for months. Does anybody else has the same problem?

Looking to update a few Joomla websites that will require a lot of changes to existing extensions to be compatible with Joomla 4. Want to switch to Gantry Particles instead. Which is the best range of Gantry particles to use that are also supported?

I have updated a few other Joomla sites already but had to remove all plugins and extensions that were not compatible first then replace with new. Had to replace all Rockettheme extensions such as roksprocket etc

@Wicko-Design I completely agree and that's how I build all my sites. Only use one or two frontend extensions.

I would highly recommend Joomlead, they have a full range of over 100 Particles and they all use UIKIT3 but sites still reach 100% performance.

Thanks for that @dmleeman I do find their own website a bit confusing. Looking for something to replace Roksprocket masiac layout. been looking at https://www.inspiretheme.com/gantry5-particles but only ever used their Headroom. Really best options with membership and support
