@friedger @nitya PDF? import into Google docs and reference the link?
Lorna Timbah
@webgrrrl
Summit resources for this year and previous ones
e.g. Global, Europe, North America, Asian, etc
Nitya Narasimhan
@nitya
@biafra23 Have the speaker (or you) put slides up on GOogle Drive then reference the link
Its the best way since this way they can edit/update the slides but link will stay relevant.
Dirk Jäckel
@biafra23
I can ask Derek, if he wants to do that. But during the talk he only offered to send them via email.
Nitya Narasimhan
@nitya
@biafra23 I just saw him now!! What we can do is upload his slides to the folder we were using for GDG Summit and then use that link. I have that link in fact .. hang on
Friedger Müffke
@friedger
If in doubt we can host the pdf on github as well...
Nitya Narasimhan
@nitya
@friedger for the GDG Summit talks, we have all slides hosted on Google Drive right now so we can reuse those.. but makes sense to keep an assets folder to store these things for future needs
Dirk Jäckel
@biafra23
@nitya yes. Is this authorized by the author?
Wind Wood
@WindWood
@biafra23 I had told the guy with Derek about that. Infact, I have the link, and there are a HOA held about.

Hello everybody,
my name is Gabriele Visconti and I am a manager of GDG Milano chapter in Italy. We attended Google I/O and listened to Nitya Narasimhan talk about GDG Wisdom.
We love the idea behind this project and we'd like to contribute by translating the book in Italian as support documentation for the ever increasing Italian GDG chapters.
What do you think about that?
How can we proceed?
@nitya
Nitya Narasimhan
@nitya
@theoneelectronic hi there — thanks for the support. Sorry for the delay responding (I hadn’t been on Gitter for a while) — I think its a great idea to do a translation! But perhaps also make it something that also has information that is specific/relevant to that region. I wanted to get a v1.0 of the English version done in June (but didn’t make that happen) but hope to get some of this done in early July. After we have some content there, the best way to do this may be to have a forked repo with the appropriate language extension (e.g., gdg-wisdom-it would be the italian version) and keep that subsequently synched (as a translated version) with the original. Let me know if you’d like to chat in a week or two about specifics?
Friedger Müffke
@friedger
@nitya gitbook has support for localization by using subfolders
Nitya Narasimhan
@nitya
@friedger thanks for the heads up (I saw this now: http://help.gitbook.com/format/languages.html — leaving this here to remind me to check that out..)
theoneelectronic
@theoneelectronic
@nitya that would be great to chat about that in one of the coming weeks. Just let me know your schedule and we can arrange. We can contribute via subfolder which would keep everything well organized. Being the same project it should also be easier to keep track to the new or modified content in the root English version.

@friedger and @nitya there is a PR on GDG Mentors kindly have a look at it ...

@theoneelectronic
@nitya hi there, speaking of our availability to provide a translation for GDD Wisdom in Italian, how can we proceed?
Friedger Müffke
@friedger
Currently, there is a discussion at GDGx how to promote our events.
how to promote our projects.
And we came to the conclusion that the gitbook is the right place.
Do you have any ideas how to do the transition to the 2016 edition?
Jhoon Saravia
@jhoon
a fork would work well, that way we reference the editions from years past :P

There are three outstanding PRs for GDG Wisdom, any takers?
Friedger Müffke
@friedger
hm, not very interactive here :-P
How should we proceed? @/all There are still 4 open pull requests...
Lorna Timbah
@webgrrrl
@friedger I don't have write access so I'm not sure how I can contribute further, other than commenting on the pull requests
Friedger Müffke
@friedger
I have "forked wisdom 2015" and we now have wisdom-2016.
Shall we move this gitter as well?

@friedger sure thing.. I will definitely try to update some new content . Especially in the context of Sub-Saharan Africa

@switchspan
@friedger : Any consensus on moving the gitter convo?
Friedger Müffke
@friedger
I suggest moving
Currently the new room has not been created
Ken Taylor
@switchspan
I agree — we should keep the gitter conversation with the appropriate repo/gitbook.
