@vraravam @sad270:matrix.org I opened an issue on the recipes repo for this to continue investigation getferdi/recipes#714
Vijay Raghavan Aravamudhan
@vraravam
thanks @JowJoris - i noticed this. but, i dont have a solution for it per se (other than removing that validation check) - which can have other consequences - for eg when having a self-hosted (enterprise) GH, and the url is fat-fingered

I've juste update from 2.2.0 to 2.2.1 and same error
Thanks @JowJoris
Maybe we can do it lake the gitlab service (screenshot is coming) with 'GitHub' and 'Self Hosted' tabs
Vijay Raghavan Aravamudhan
@vraravam
that's a nice idea @sad270:matrix.org - please go ahead and make them similar

A can make the service like GitLab, i will start the dev after work, but i can't test if the self hosted version works i don't have self hosted Github :)
Vijay Raghavan Aravamudhan
@vraravam
@sad270:matrix.org - no need to test the self-hosted by ourselves

@vraravam Is there a way to trigger Ferdi to get latest recipes from the server?
Vijay Raghavan Aravamudhan
@vraravam
nope - that is a discussion that I had started a while ago: https://github.com/getferdi/ferdi/discussions/1784 (please upvote and contribute if possible)
in the meantime while this is not yet implemented, you can upgrade to the nightly in another 18 hrs or so - for this fix to reflect in your local installed version

@HuggableSquare
has anyone here figured out a fix for the issues with slack yet? I tried overriding the user-agent and that doesn't do anything
just still tells me to launch the slack desktop app
sad270
@sad270:matrix.org
[m]
You can't click on 'X' or 'close' on the top right of the webpage ?
nick
@HuggableSquare
okay that's weird, I just reinstalled ferdi and now it's working? I accidentally had the x64 version installed instead of the arm one and it seems to work fine now
not sure what happened there
but no, there was no x button at all
it was just a white screen that said "Launching" and told you to open it in the slack app
You should click on "use Slack in your browser"

Looks like Windows failed because nightly.9 is already present?

Vijay Raghavan Aravamudhan
@vraravam
yes - i tried to delete the artefacts - but, even that failed. will try again now, and if successful, can retrigger a new nightly build
yes - was able to delete

@JowJoris

@/all : I created a new room for Ferdi in SO: https://chat.stackoverflow.com/rooms/237341/ferdi - please join and ask/answer questions there (I felt that a room in SO might get more traction that gitter - especially for non-devs)

Hi, this is probably not a Ferdi issue, but I'll ask anyway. I installed Ferdi with flatpak on Debian Bullseye. It works fine for most of what I need, but I can't seem to be able to save files received on my messengers in the local system - not even to create a new folder. I assume there it must be something related to permissions. Anyone has a clue?

@JowJoris - done and committed. you can replace your local recipe with the new code from the master branch (or) wait for the next nightly

Hacktoberfest is just a week away - is there anything that we need to sign up for - so that we can get contributors for ferdi? Does anyone know what to do and how to go about it?
Vijay Raghavan Aravamudhan
@vraravam
thanks @mhatvan - I will add the topic to the repos. Please start tagging specific issues where we can use help from hacktoberfest - when you next start working after vacation
Markus Hatvan
@mhatvan
Will do so on 29th sept
