hi @arikfr
i would like to use redash with multi-org functionality
do i understand correctly that in this case authentication can only be done through google auth with organization-specific domain?

@yanenok multi-org is for hosting multiple companies on a single instance. for using google oauth you don't need it.

@arikfr: i would like to ensure that people from different groups don't see each others dashboards, queries and users
as far as i understood, that's exactly what organizations are for, am i right?

@yanenok you can use groups. let's assume you have group A and group B, and you have data source D1, and data source D2. group A has full permissions on D1 and group B has full permissions on D2. users from group A won't see queries created on data source D2, and vice versa. They will see dashboards created by group B, but they won't be able to see the widgets.

also users from group A can see users from group B (in users list, although this can be disabled).

@arikfr: unfortunately, i need group A not to know about group B's existence

unless you need to fully partition the groups, then I recommend using groups over organizations as organization support is very limited (there are no APIs or tools) and it will stay like this for the foreseeable future.
can you give more details on your use case? (maybe in private)

Hi, I keep getting "ProgrammingError: permission denied for relation organizations" for google oauth login
Any idea why that might happen?
I just upgraded my redash from 0.8 to latest stable release...

@rghose sounds like the db user you have doesn't have full permissions on the redash database.

any plans for releasing the 9.2 stable? Would be nice to try this again with docker, so we would have a good base to start with...

hey, I'm trying to hack on the URL data source, is there any way to enable verbose logging to see what requests are sent, or log responses?
Arik Fraimovich

@shevron hmm... I think that somewhere in code I explictly reduce the logging level or requests. find this line and change it :)
@shevron btw, got your email. I will call you tomorrow morning.
