I'm getting the following error when trying to do the send_test_mail:

smtplib.SMTPException: STARTTLS extension not supported by server.
the manage.py script seems to import a file called mail from the redash module however, I don't see that file in the directory

@brentonmallen1 maybe disable TLS? I don't remember the setting name, but check in the docs

When i disable the TLS setting, I get a JSON error
i'll post that in a sec
hmm the JSON error went away if i explicitly set the TLS value to False instead of leaving it default

I think I found an issue here: https://github.com/getredash/redash/blob/master/manage.py#L54
the sender is entered in as the recipient so when i put my address in there, i get an email from myself

@brentonmallen1 because it's a test message, it's by design like this...

so I was able to get the send mail test working but for some reason alerts aren't being sent and I can't seem to figure out how to debug that
the email address is setup for the subscriber to the alert, but when the alert triggers nothing happens

do you see anything in celery's logs (/opt/redash/logs/celery_error.log)?
