I have just started with redash and created my first dashboard. I want to share it with business people. But, the issue is I do not want them to edit query or edit dashboard. It should be like a readonly user. Is there any way we can create one? Do we have a place where I can read documentation about user permissions? I am not able to find it

@shahneil88 each user (unless he's an admin) can only his own objects - dashboards or queries. so giving them full access is the recommended best practice and won't let them "break" existing dashboards.
@shahneil88 if you're still worried about what they might do, you can give the default group (the one all users join) read only permissions.

@arikfr - OK. Thanks. How do I give read only permissions to group ? Is this the correct way?
1) Login as admin
2) Go to users
3) Go to groups
4) Click on default (group name)
5) Select Data Sources
6) Give data source "view only"

Exactly.
Just make sure the admin group has full access.

Sure. Thanks @arikfr . 1 more thing. Is there a way to assign permission at dashboard level?
Eg - User X can only see dashboard AA,BB
User Y can only see dashboard AA,CC

Currently permissions are based on the datasource<->group permissions. Meaning that if I have access to some data source, I can access all queries/dashboards resulting from this data source.

Although if all your groups are read only, then you can just use the same database just defined as different data sources, to manage the permissions.

Do note, that all users see the list of all dashboards, but can't see actual widgets. Although this will be soon fixed (there is an open pull request for this).
